Want Machines
Want Machines Car companies do it. So do airline companies and credit card companies. Perhaps the best are toy manufacturers. They all market to our weakness as what I call "want machines."
Little kids watch TV and commercials easily convince the children that they MUST have the lates

While I'll agree you can't argue with wins, it's a bit of a stretch to compare this offense to the ball control offense that a Ford or Johnson run. We are putting it on our defenses' back simply because our offense is anemic at times, not by design. Having said that we are winning and our offense is doing enough thanks to the defense and I think our offense will improve and we will hopefully get some injuries healed. I think you would hear much less concern if we were running a triple option offense and controlling the clock and winning these low scoring games.

the truth is, no matter what some fans will never be happy. they think x-box or playstation makes them more of an expert than the coaches.

Hey Rodney, I'm Open!!

Funny, I was telling my son last Saturday at the game about the "Hey Rodney, I'm Open!" signs we used to hold up in the student section. Rodney probably wasn't that bad but we ran the ball so much it sure seemed like it.
Good article here Mickey but the reality is that most people just can't help but complain about something. Throw in an emotionally invested "fan" and a stressful sporting event and the complaining can transcend logic. Just gets old (and uncomfortable) in the stands to hear folks loudly criticize a program that is light years better than what we endured during our dark years. I smile and quietly remind myself that those vocal few are just morons.

I had the conversation in the stands with my son last Sat. "This reminds me of watching Danny Ford teams. I love the D, it is awesome. I know everybody hates it, but I love it."
I told him how my cousin and I would talk in the stands in the 80's: "It would be great if we threw it just 20 times a game..."
Just win. Offense puts butts in the seats, but defense wins championships...
Thanks for the reminder.

not a complete team..the past few years we had great offense with little defense..now that we have a great defense the offense is off.i love to win any way we can..but that loss to fsu and uga still haunt me..its like we are always living the " what could have been" scenario each year.

But I do not enjoy holding my breath each time Cole drops back to throw one vertically. All off-season thru the third week of the season, all we were told was how great Stoudt was and how he beat Watson out. I'm ready to see that guy in the field. He's been MIA minus a handful of series in Athens. Some also are ready to see a complete team on both sides. Sure, a win is a win, but we've won a couple of these lately in spite of very poor Qb play. It's still better than the 7-5, 8-4 years, absolutely.
