That is what Bama is. They lost a game at home. This is just crazy to me. It's embarrassing as a fan of the sport. FsU was undefeated and better overall on O and D throughout the season. Bama is not some powerhouse team that lost a game by bad luck. They have been an okay team all season. I don't understand how they justify this just because they beat Georgia.

This has been explained ad nauseam. Florida St's quarterback is injured. That was the committee's reasoning.

Correct… FSU is not top 10 with the current QB. Travis still playing then I would think differently but they are not beating anyone in the top 4.
Wouldn’t currently beat Clemson either.

Penalizing an undefeated team for an injury in a full contact sport seems like flawed logic. Would Alabama have been left out if they beat UGA but had their starting QB injured for the rest of the season? I think not. What if Bamas' QB or Texas' QB gets injured during the playoff game? Would FSU have a chance? When Colt McCoy was injured during the Natty, that game was no longer competitive. Football is a funny game, they should be given the chance to prove it on the field.

And if one of 4 playoff QBs get hurt in practice or a semifinal and their team wins, anyway does the Committee SEClect Georgia to replace them or maybe be to appear fair, the FSU/GA winner?

Georgia was undefeated and the 2-time defending NC. They couldn't have closed with a better team for a statement win right before the final vote.

Exactly. Win over Georgia ranked 1 will trump a win over Louisville with a 3rd string QB. The offense currently has no pulse.

That was their third string back on one week practice. The second stringer played much better and was only held out for concussion protocol. There was no question he would be available. And FSU would have 5 full weeks of practice to prep for this game. That’s one week shy of the maximum allowed in practices prior to the start of the season. They would have plenty of time to get their offense up to speed and scheme for the opponents. You have six weeks in the summer to install offensive concepts for 12 opponents. FSU would have five to scheme for three possible opponents.

Which they coasted to by dodging Alabama for nearly two years. Kirby is 1-5 against Bama as head coach of Georgia and only secured the one win when he was given the opportunity for a do-over after being waxed in the SEC championship. Georgia has own a bunch of games but no one is remotely entertaining the notion they were a “best of all time” type team. They successfully exploited the disparity in unbalanced conference schedules. Don’t be confused by SOS rankings that factor in conference championships and CFP games. Those spots are awarded based off this disparity then help mask the mistake. At the conclusion of the regular season, the ESPN power index ranked Georgia’s SOS as dead last in the SEC and 59 in the country. I can’t find full rankings for 2022 after week 13, but they were 30th in SOS that year going into the SEC championship game - which they lost. They shouldn’t have even been in that playoff, which they ended up winning. And no, them winning doesn’t negate my argument. Giving a team a mulligan that late in the season is an unfair advantage to the loser when the teams are marginally competitive. The losers of the first matchup holds a 16-7 advantage in in-season rematches - this is way too big a disparity to pass off as chance and is a major flaw in the current playoff model.

Bama had one good game and it's the only help the committee needed.

At this point they may as well let the Vegas oddsmakers pick the playoff teams. Nothing matters but perception of team strength.
