about possible Covid restrictions for the Ga game? Things are being cancelled or postponed in Charleston and mask wearing is WAY up. Eerily reminiscent of March/April 2020. Both the Upstate and Charlotte are considered as "hot spots" right now. I have my 4 tickets and will be there if allowed, but I'm concerned.

We cannot control politicians, true. But we can control, individually and collectively, getting vaccinated. If we don’t, the pols will have little choice. I am hopeful , seeing the vaccination numbers increasing the last few days.

by ordinary people who tried to do the right thing initially and are now simply fed up.
Restaurant/bar owners whose livelihood depends on full capacity are not going back and let their businesses go under.
Ditto any other small entrepreneur who can’t afford to just close the doors again on the whim of those who don’t have a clue what to do, but are determined to do something, even if it’s wrong.
This has already gone just about as long as the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, when we were totally defenseless and had no vaccine. Here we are over 100 years later and we still love with the flu.
We’re going to have to settle down and live with Covid too.
We cannot beat it. We cannot eradicate it. It is not going away.
Start living your life again and stop following the idiots in power who change their perspective daily.
As I’ve stated before, I’m 72 years old. I’ve earned the right to speak my mind. And this is how I feel.
Deal with it!

who face real danger from covid are people who have freely chosen to put themselves in danger by not getting vaccinated. This is not March 2020, it's very different now. It would be wrong to punish the sensible, responsible people because of those who have elected to roll the dice with covid. Open up, do our best to persuade and educate, then allow people to deal with the consequenses of their own decisions while not punishing them for the decisions of others.

Unless you were over 65 or unless you are obese and have diabetes you have very little to fear from Covid. Less than 1200 people under the age of 25 have died in America. And most of them had some type of health issue. Covid is real but it is nowhere near as deadly as the media and the government want you to think. And all you have to do is look at the data to understand this. More people under the age of 25 die from the regular flu every year then die from Covid. If you are young and healthy or middle-aged and healthy you have next to nothing to be scared of. It’s called statistics and science.

You might wind up in the hospital though racking up huge bills and you might have lingering heart issues due to it though. Its not all about death. I am in good shape and relatively young and I was in the hospital for 7 days due to low oxygen levels. The non vaccinated are hogging all of the beds. I am vaccinated now and wouldn't want to go through it all again.

I enjoy how you start out with "over 65" as having to fear, then jump to "under 25" for deaths. Not to mention death isn't the only thing to do with it; lingering effects, rapid spread, new variants, etc.
I never mentioned anything about the lethality of the virus; but less people die from the flu every year than did from covid in it's first year, if you'd like to play the lethality card lol.
The vaccines are literally from science, and statistics say it's safe and if you take it then you have an even more miniscule chance of death (regardless of age).
It's called science and common sense.

Lol.... because they are saying that this new strain infects both vaccinated and unvaccinated. Besides the crew running things right now are completely about lockdowns. That is all they want. Did you know that the crew in charge are basing CDC guidelines on a study from India on a drug that can not even be used in the USA? The fun thing really is that about 2 days after the CDC issued the new guidelines based on the findings of that study, the study was pulled by the scientist that released it.

The only person an unvaccinated person theoretically puts in danger is another unvaccinated person. And they both made the choice to not be vaccinated. If you believe in the vaccine, which clearly you do, then no one has anything to fear from an unvaccinated person if they want to get vaccinated.

That's why I favor letting people face the consequenses of their own decisions. However, people who don't get vaccinated are going to clog up ERs and ICUs and stress the #### out of doctors and healthcare workers. Also unvacinated communities are breeding grounds for mutations of the virus. Then, rightly or wrongly, the more people we have unvaccinated, the more likely we are to face further lockdowns, restrictions, and other disruptions to or lives. So in all of those ways, Not getting vaccinated can impact vaccinated people.

Sure, there are a lot of people in hospitals because of those reasons, but they are not completely overwhelming the system anything like covid patients are in many areas. Besides, people who smoke, drink, eat junk food and don't exercise know they are rolling the dice by choosing to enjoy unhealthy things now while risking disease and early death. It's a conscious decision where the consequenses are pretty much expected. When people refuse the covid vaccine, they actually believe they are INCREASING THEIR CHANCES of living a long healthy life by avoiding a potentially dangerous vaccine. So, when a horrific death comes for anti-vaxxers, they can't draw one lick of comfort from knowing that they got some years of enjoyment from their decision to smoke/drink/eat twinkies; they can only reflect upon what a stupid decision they made as they spend their final hours gasping for air.

fact right? But we have in no way peaked here. Our numbers are climbing as of today.
Of course, that could be very different in a couple weeks; flat, dropped admission covid rate, or busting at the seams in the hospitals again. We'll see!
The great thing about this newest wave is people die fast instead of linger. Part of the issue last year was bed and supplies availability. Pts on vents for 3-5 weeks. Now we are seeing people intubated die in 8-10 days instead. What a silver lining!!

Based my conversation with many in the medical field their opinion as well as mine feel we have overreacted regarding Covid. Please understand I am not making light of Covid because many passed away from Covid. And I am sad for those who lost friends or relatives. Some of my friends and family passed away because they had Covid. But each one of them had other health issues or weight problems.
The highly qualified physicians, nurses and others who work in the medical field I spoke with indicated based on their experience with highly contagious viruses we most likely would be in a better position to handle a recurrence of Covid or a new strain of Covid we would be in a better position to handle a new pandemic if we had not become so isolated.
Everyone of them stated that by shutting done, limiting contact with other people, canceling events, making sure we wore mask , keeping distance from other people, trying to kill every germ on the plant, those who bought TP by the “Butt” loads as well as following all of the other things that were recommended by the WHO, governments, politicians, and others ….. may have actually made the Covid virus worse long term. These medical professionals stated that we most likely would have been better off fighting Covid while allowing our bodies to build up our our antibodies to future breakouts of Covid. Several of these doctors feel since we did not built up antibodies and strengthen our immune systems a recurrence could be much worse. COVID may have already mutated into different forms of the virus. These well qualified knowledgeable doctors have stated that we should have treated the virus with caution but eliminated many of the above steps mentioned in treating Covid when it first came out that were taken may make the next outbreak much worse regardless of mask, distancing ourselves from others and even for those who got the Covid Vaccine.
IMO I think we should make God and prayer a priority. Then we have to stop all of this bickering about racism ( which will exist until the end of time ), learn to treat others as you would want to be treated and get our priorities straight. We need to pull together as a nation and fight the next outbreak as a United Nation.
Please except my post by a flawed individual who needs to improve in all of these areas. I would like to see people get back to some sense of normalcy in our lives. God is in total control. If Covid comes back it’s because it is in God’s plans. We can only control some much in life.
I hope we can find a place for God in our country and stop the road we are headed down. God Bless each and everyone of you and your families.
Now let’s get ready to kick the Bulldogs back to Athens, Ga. and let them now the Clemson Tigers are King of the Hill. ????????????????????
