Even if he does make the NFL,that's 3-4 years.He'll still need those connections from the University he graduated from for life.
He just cut those ties.
I'd say the same thing if he was a UofSC grad trying to come to Clemson. Don't cut the ties that your degree brings you.

Can’t fault the guy for chasing a dream. All signs point to a crash and burn landing though. A terrible offensive coaching staff + an equally bad offensive line + 3 top-10 defenses on the schedule + a few weeks to assimilate into an offense = nightmare getting even worse.
