Red and I went down to Pinehurst Saturday morning for a one night spa retreat (on brand, I know). Rolled into serenity around 11am, switched into robes, grabbed a peanut butter and spinach smoothie at the pool. Rolled into the couples massage at noon. Enjoyed 50 minutes of Moore counties finest rubbing all over my body (did not pay extra for the Kraft special, I just bought a truck, I am broke).
Walked over to Pinehurst Brewing Company and enjoyed a few adult beverages (took the day off from dry January). I got the chopped shoulder with hushpuppies and onion rings. I think I would happily recommend this order to anyone. Red got the Margarita pizza.
Marched back to the spa with a roadie in hand. Petted approximately 8 good doggos on the way from the brewery to the spa. Re-robed and then spent some time slurping down another smoothie in the hot tub.
Back to the room for some naked cuddling before dinner. Stayed at the Carolina Hotel. 10/10 would recommend for any golf fan. I think they just went through a renovation and dang... those rooms are nice. Probably the nicest shower I have ever been in. Went to dinner at the Carolina Dining Room. Had baked oysters that easily took the top spot of any baked oysters I have ever had. Had creamed spinach, crispy bacon with brabander chees, with toasted buttermilk biscuit crumbles. Finished off dinner with a 16oz ribeye, cooked medium rare, paired with scalloped potatoes and grilled asparagus. Had a 'Rush the Tee Box' to drink and that included 1792 bourbon mixed with house made honey and fresh lemon juice. The heartburn was worth it. Dialed down dinner with a cup of black coffee and a brownie sundae consisting of a warm double-chocolate brownie topped with french vanilla, Belgian chocolate chip, and caramel cone ice creams, hot hudge, caramel sauce and candied pecans. I think I would have consumed an entire gallon of the caramel ice cream off the chest of dawghater23®.
Got the gawk gawk 9000 as a wake up call on Sunday morning. Was awesome. Walked down to the pro shop on after breakfast at the hotel. Spent a few hundo bucks on some Pinehurst branded golf clothing (people NEED to know I have money). Next time we go down, I am determined to play No. 2. Even in 30 degree weather, the course looked great and the greens were pristine. Being able to walk in the same area that such greats designed and played on was special.
11/10 weekend. Would recommend for those that have a a grand laying around that they want to blow through.

Shared a room with the in-laws, must have be 3 beds, idk?
There was a dab of toothpaste on the floor. MIL asked "did you drop toothpaste on the floor". I said no. I mean if I did I wouldn't have left it there.
We rode bikes, too. Took a photo that would later be our "save the date".

Patrick Square, had drinks at Kite Hill, dinner at Joe's NY Pizza, etc. No massages though, and we had the kids with us. So that wasn't anything like what yall had. Spent what a second room would have cost on a dinner Saturday night downtown with family, my niece and her roomates, and my wife's nephew. 10 people at Charleston Sports Pub was pricey. Spent a couple hundy in hoodies for the kids because we need more Clemson hoodies. I got some free stickers at Kite Hill Brewing, mostly because they were free.
So if anyone has an extra grand they want to burn for the weekend, I'd say we got real close to that.

We stayed home and played legos with the little guy, took down Christmas lights, and I got a little chokesex last night.

I would say that I prefer the hotel (Carolina Hotel) at Pinehurst to the actual Grove Park Inn, especially if you get a room in one of the add on wings. The Spa at the Grove Park is probably the best I will ever go to, but the Spa at Pinehurst has its own touch of southern charm.
Ill take your financial commentary into consideration, though.
