Perception of Dabo, or reality?
Nov 27, 2022, 1:44 PM
|
|
Dabo may or may not be stubborn and hardheaded. But from every angle, he appears to be. From us fans, to national heads, to Will Shipley himself, we’re seeing the same thing… refusal to adjust to the situation. As a Christian, I teach my kids that perception is YOUR responsibility. And people typically see the truth in us. I also teach my kids that if a couple of people say something negative about them, they get the benefit of the doubt. After all, they’re my kids. But if everyone starts telling me the same thing, they need to come clean and fix it, or there will be consequences. After all, they’re my kids. Dabo needs to come clean, admit his mistakes, fix them, or see some consequences from Graham Neff. Otherwise, his mistakes will continue to drive us downward.
Also, history does not buy you passes for future mistakes. You don’t earn the right to pick your own departure. That’s a loser mentality. You don’t get 10+ mil a yr and not be held accountable. That’s a waste of money and poor leadership.
I’m not giving up on him or this team, but I hope Dabo can change the current perception before it becomes an undeniable reality.

Then as a great holy man you should know not to judge others. That includes judging Dabo you hypocrite.

The Bible does not say to not judge others.

That verse is saying exactly what I teach my kids... you will be held to the same standard by which you hold others. Because there is only ONE way... Christ.
Again, just stop. You look silly.

This is a football forum. Why is it everytime someone makes a comment there is always someone wagging a Bible and acting like it has anything to do with winning football games.
I personally could care less how Dabo spent his Sundays. He could be sitting in a Church or riding his motorcycle. But on Saturdays he is to win football games because that is what he is being paid ungodly amounts of money to do.
This isn’t about him or DJ or anyones personal character, rather it’s about personal work ethic and standards of care. Take that other talk to the feel good forum where it belongs!

God didn't say we can't judge a man's character. He gives Christians FULL authority to do that to other Christians. Matthew 7:16 says as Christ followers, we will KNOW them by their fruit.
However, I didn't judge Dabo. I'd never do that. His fruit as a Christian is awesome. He's a Godly and wonderful man. I pointed out the perception he's currently creating.
Good try, but just another example of how those who don't know what they're talking about trying to make a point. Fail. But thanks for showing YOUR colors.

That's about as reasonable as your twisting of the OP's statements. I do not agree with the OP's assessment or his criticism of Dabo but your assessment is totally off the wall.

"Dabo needs to come clean, admit his mistakes, fix them, or see some consequences from Graham Neff".
He's not a criminal. He's one of the most successful coaches on this planet. To compare him to children is a bit of a stretch, isn't it? And why to Neff? Neff may be his boss on paper, but I can assure you he has nowhere near the financial authority to do anything with Dabo's contract.

In no way did I compare him to children. You missed the point (not surprising.) The point is, we learn these concepts as kids so we can operate in a grown up world later.... he's operating in a grown up world and there are consequences for failures. Did your parents not teach you that?

it wasn't comparing Dabo to kids or criminals, but to a standard of excellence. Maybe you don't understand that concept... but Dabo's perception is waning, and only HE can correct it.

I do not believe a reasonable person will come to...

a message board or any form of social media and perceive what is stated there is the voice of the majority. All Clemson fans are not represented here. the tiny percentage which post negative things about our players, HC and his staff are not a true representation of the majority of even Tnet.
Every Clemson fan is disappointed in losing two games and disheartened by the absolutely abysmal performances we've seen on the field this season.
