Where have the holding calls been?

I don’t quite understand why there haven’t been more holding calls on our opponents’ OL’s.
I remember when Lamar Jackson played Houston and lost miserably. The refs called a lot of holding penalties on UL’s O Line. Changed the game dramatically.
There can only be a few explanations: 1. Our D line is not as good 2. The opponents O Line are good 3. ACC refs suck

1 No 2 Unlikely 3 Yes
Didn’t Dabo mention we must have played some of the best OLs ever due to lack of holds.

The A&M game convinced me they do not call holding against our DL. There were at least 8 blatant holds against our DL right in front of the refs without one being called.
If they aren't going to call it, more teams are going to hold.
Maybe they are too busy trying to call targeting penalties.

If we're being honest ... the only way to stop Clemson's DL is to hold them . Maybe these refs are just really sympathetic to the plight ?
I like to use archaic words like plight . For reference : An example of plight would be being born a Gamecock fan .

Kind of tells the story before the story .

The next step is making penalty/non penalty calls reviewable

Which is one step closer to completely ruining the game.
If holding is a penalty, enforce it!! Don't have TV cameras showing linemen holding wads of a DL's jersey with a referee looking straight at it as he dodges a quarterback squirting away from the pressure.
I suppose we could put Xavier Thomas in to rush from the edge on every play. No one seems to be able to catch him to put a hand on his jersey.

I don't understand it. Texas A&M was a particularly frustrating one.***

Been going on for years. Ridiculous and it completely closes the talent gap that the Tigers have over most teams.

4. Refs have have predetermined no holds

The fact that the ACC crew calling the aTm game called ONE hold on the last play of the game tells me a whole lot. They gave the Tigers a big middle finger with that flag. It's like they said, Yeah we could have called all night, but here's one for you.
Holding has been the non-call so far. Seems very odd.

Pretty simple: Holding is ignored for the most part.

All teams hold on almost every play. Refs have gradually, over time, allowed more and more holding, until it's now blatant and pervasive. Most fans see it, but don't even realize it, as they've grown so accustomed to seeing it they thinkk it's legal; but it's not. If refs actually started enforcing the rule now, there would be outrage, and either they would have to cowardly relent, or teams would have to totally change the way the teach players to block, which in turn would change the game itself. As it is, only the most obvious and egregious holds are called, and even those are called randomly and with no consistency.
