Specifically after football games but with as bad as traffic has gotten at all times, I’ll listen to those suggestions as well

More roads dont decrease traffic best and most effective method is to have less cars on the road.

The blue one and the green one, right? Space and time?
Why not just use the red to change reality and create a 3D ZeroG ramp for each Clemson fan to their house and the away fans into Hartwell.

How would that help the traffic problem?

Seems to me by making more spaces for more cars to park, you’re making the traffic problem worse. More cars = more traffic.
That’s what got us here in the first place - and I’m not only referring to traffic problems in Clemson.
I really hope some of you people didn’t graduate from Clemson.

By providing more parking spaces, and different lanes to park on different levels a parking garage can help reduce the number of vehicles driving around in search of parking, thus reducing traffic congestion.
Have larger parking garages further away from Death Valley. Reducing the concentration of people parking right around the stadium allows more space and more avenues for people to get from A to B. If everyone is driving within a half mile radius of the stadium, you are going to have worse traffic than if people are driving to fewer locations inside of a 3-mile radius then leaning on bus shuttles/pedestrians can reduce traffic further. You could even close certain roads for bus shuttles only to keep the flow going.

In all honesty. The ONLY game I can remember that post-traffic wasn't a sh*t show afterwards was when all of the cops were rerouted for hurricane traffic coming up from the coast.
Not sure what game it was but I remember getting onto 123 within 15 mins of leaving and running into zero stops.

That's the winner right there. Cops get things out of sync, letting too many or too few cars move when the next set of cops are doing the opposite.
A highly synchronized set of lights with AI balancing/maximizing at each intersection to maximize overall throughput.
Also, a magic shield over the whole area that prevents people from being traffic a-holes probably would be a big help.

The 1989 Rolling Stones concert.
There were no cops coming in or going out. Took an hour to get the three miles from my house just off Berkeley Drive to a friends house on North Clemson Ave. it was even worse going home.
It was a total nightmare. I prefer having the State Patrol on the job.

Buy all the tickets myself and sit in the stadium alone right on the 50 yard line. No traffic problem after the game as I would be the only one leaving. I would also give the university $10 million per game to cover lost revenue from concession sales. As long as it’s a sell out and the school makes plenty on concessions, Clemson officials will be happy.

Create a new By Pass to avoid 123. Just kidding but the traffic between Seneca and Easley through Clemson is God awful. Something seriously needs to be done. It’s like that with the majority of upstate SC now.

go through Clemson twice a day...Coming home is the worst... The DOT should have bought more right of way back in the 70's when possibly it was affordable. I wonder what it would cost now, because basically, you would have to purchase almost every business on 123....and then, where would people eat?

Send the yankees back up north and get rid of those buses that few people ride. People transportation is not the answer, as people that were raised in the rural south or not real keen on it.

Treat the campus like a theme park (Disney). Have entrances posted at 123 and old Greenville hwy. Old Greenville and 28. 28 and perimeter rd. Perimeter rd and old Greenville. College avenue at old Greenville. And college ave at 123. Sell tickets at 100 per car, 150 per van, 200 per RV, and 400 per bus. Pay half to get in and the rest to leave.

After the North Deck was completed in the 80's we put 80,000+ in for almost every game and traffic moved in and out. Sometimes in the early 2000's I noticed fewer Highway Patrolmen at intersections approaching and leaving games and traffic backing up. Also the traffic flow changed to keeping 2 way traffic on roads in town which contributed to more slowdown. I hope Widening Perimeter Road helps but 123\93 coming and 76\123 leaving needs some work too!

Make all home kickoffs 1pm again
Apr 20, 2023, 7:24 AM

The stadium has more/less been the same size since 1983... throughout the 80's and early 90's we were in and out with no problem from Lot 4 (now the softball stadium). I think with later kickoffs, everyone is forced to leave at the same time whereas when games began at 1pm, people took their time leaving when games ended at 4-430.

I'll do this in sections. Now you've really opened a can with me, got my juices stirring. That's because I am a rideshare driver and drive through and all around Clemson A LOT.
Boy have you got me going.
So part one of my response - and I've got plenty other things I need to be doing right now - is:
Who needs an unlimited budget? You just have to think and work "smarter" as they say. In fact, my solutions would probably have SAVED money in the long-term.
So that's part one.
And on top of all, I GREW UP in this town, so I know every crevasse, every nuance, that has taken place. I'll just say for now, in coming back after a few decades - this place has got so woke progressive it's scary. And I'm just talking about "safety", not all the other stuff.
Anyway, yeah, so that's part ONE.
