Overall, I like the 12 team playoff but one negative

Is that Ohio State is pretty much guaranteed a spot in right?
As great as it was to see them lose yesterday, it doesn’t really hurt their playoff status at all. Even if they lose one more, they are gonna put them in. And I can’t see a way they lose more than 1 more with that schedule.

They have to play Nebraska (better), at #3 Penn State, Indiana (ranked), and Michigan (ranked) in their next 6 games. If they lose to Penn State, there could be an undefeated Oregon-Penn State BIGCG.
If they lose that one and another one, they're definitely in a mid level bowl game.

They are better than Penn St. PSU will be exposed for the fraud they are just like every year. Lots of football left and these things work themselves out. I see OSU in it most likely. That was a hard fought game.
Our one half of bad football this year will haunt us the entire season.

I can't believe people who have watched college football for years, and seen all the upsets (just this year alone), and still think all these teams will just win out.

Mark it down, there will be at least 1 two loss SEC/B10 team in the CFP, maybe 2!

Particularly from the SEC…if the committee ranks them like the media.
We’ll hear all this stuff about the ‘gauntlet’ that they play. Now that Ole Miss has 2 losses and Missouri fell out of top 10, look for LSU to ascend. Tennessee/Bama should be an elimination game this week, but will it? Hard to tell.
I think the Big will sort itself out pretty easily…Ohio St & Oregon will be in. Then probably Penn St with a loss, or maybe 2 losses. Everyone else will be 3 loss or more in that conference.

I think uga or Bama could get in as a 3 loss team. Saying, expect 4 from sec, at least 3 from b1g with a possible 4. ND should get in. I really don't see another loss on them. Possible the game with usc.
So, that takes up 8 spots with outside chance at 9 slots. But let's take 8.
5 conference champions is the kicker. Because I figure that's 5 champs + ND. That leaves 6. 3 more imo from sec and 2 more from b1g. So that leaves 1 spot. If you have an undefeated conference champ from b12 and then a 1 loss BYU from b12, that's it.
So with ND taking a slot that is a pseudo 2nd acc spot leaving the only other slot open is the acc champion. Jmho, I don't see but 1 true acc team in the playoffs. Lots of football left.

Ohio State will probably beat Penn State and will destroy Michigan. They will play the rest of the season with an edge.
Oregon is the only team in the B1G that can beat them.

No, they aren't virtually guaranteed a spot. Too many games to play and too many other teams on contention to make that statement.

Ohio State is a lock to make it, they'd have to lose two more to be left out.
UGA is the highest ranked team that won't get in, and Bama might miss out if they lose to Tennessee next week.
