If we're going not going to use the portal and recruit out of high school exclusively, then we're going to need to do far better than our 26th rated class right now. Compare our class with the top 10 right now. It's bad. You can burry your head in the sand like so many on here do, but that doesn't change the continued downward trajectory this program is facing if Swinney doesn't change his philosophy.

To develop these 3 stars into winners. If Dabo would just upgrade his staff with experienced, proven coaches... id feel a lot better about the future.

Recruiting is not the problem. The problem is the NIL. We made offers to seven 5 stars...all committed to deeper pocketed schools for more money (Tenn, Ohio St, UGA, Bama). The "family atmosphere" and top facilities are no longer considered by most recruits. They only want $$$ now.

I’m not worried about recruiting. Yes, this was a down year but Dabo has proven beyond all doubt he can recruit. The bigger concerns for me are coaching, player development, and roster management. Basically everything else lol.

I agree. And if your philosophy is we are going to develop the players that we have, then you have to do a better job of developing with toughness, energy, leadership, and sense of urgency. I just don't see much development taking place on defense. Tj and Woods and Capehart, and the LBs were to be beasts this year. They looked worse than last year. Nobody plays with the fire like we did during the Natty years.

If we get a tough and fiery Defensive Coordinator we might be able to get back to having a tough and fiery defense. Just food for thought.

Hate to correct you, but take another look. With the portal plyers, and something you seem not not pay attention, the players we retained that did not go pro, we are in great shape. Wake up, smell the roses!!
