MLB breaking us down for next season, it happens all the time, not just with us, but with our Baseball tradition, we do attract a lot of major league talent that never plays a season for us, or they take them right after we have coached them up a bit, or until they see how they play after HS against better talent!!! College teams are nothing but a cost free farm teams for MLB!!! It would probably be better for us to just recruit a little better than average players and coach them up to be great college players. That way we wouldn't be stripped of our top talent that doesn't last long enough to gel with our other players that would never play no higher than a MLB farm team, that never gets called up to the big league's, but are good players!!!
When you look at the research, Only guys that were drafted into MLB, the first rounder stood about a less chance of becoming a full time MLB player than the first round out of college FB. MLB recruits are selling their lives to MLB for a signing bonus bc, most of them never play MLB full time, they remain on a pup team for very little money until MLB just don't want to even give them the chump change after a few years of playing little league MLB!!!

I'm sure you would have stayed and not chased a dream, huh?
No leverage and little to NO money after Sr year makes this move smart. You'll be taked in the top 10 rounds of course...so the team can pay you $5k-$10K and save that money for a later round pick who demands more bonus that slot.
Clemson has plenty of players who get drafted and recruit with that in mind. Byrd and guys like him are the anomaly...as anyone who can play usually goes after Jr year.

Congratulations Kyle. You deserve it. Keep working on your hitting and not doing too much.
Hopefully your two strike approach rubbed off on some of the youngsters behind you. Will be good to see Hackenberg and donathan get their chance!!!!
Go Tigers!!!!

Congrats Kyle, appreciate all your hard work! Anxious to see your progress with some proper coaching. PS Please will your walk up song to another player, when it played it was the most emotion the team displayed all year.

Best of luck, always a Clemson Tiger! I guess the MLB incentive was there to forego his Sr. year? What does our lineup look like next year!
