So, what is wrong with the portal? Is competition such a bad thing?

Are we afraid of scaring off a recruit because there is a 5th year senior that could come in? I don't think the talent in the portal is top level. But, experience is there and that goes a long way. Right now, our O looks like a bunch of freshmen with that deer in the headlights look.

Are we paying an assistant to monitor the portal, but yet we never use it? After Phom went down, wouldn't it have been good to grab a solid backup from somewhere?

I know, this is a dead horse. But these coaches get paid a LOT of money. While the portal is not a fix all, there has to be some solid players that can come in to prop up.

Title with a transfer QB. ITs not ideal.. we all want our home grown players to be the ones who get the job done..but you're either on the train when it leaves or you're not. With that said, i'll trust Dabo though b/c only he and Danny Ford have been able to unlock the door and compete on the big stage here at Clemson. So he has earned it. Who would've known DJ was going to be this anemic. He was teh #1 player/QB in the country coming out of high school. I think he'll get where he lives up to the billing but it wasn't from the get-go like Deshaun and Trevor. This year its going to be about how we finish. I'd love to see us get on a roll here and finish strong. Maybe this will wake this offense and coaches up. WE're not CFP bound but i want to see us finish like we should.
