Lets hope not and I doubt many decline because this may be their only chance to ever go to the White House no matter who is President.

I don't agree that it would be bad for recruiting.

I think being invited to the White House is always an honor. I think Trump is an absolute clown in many ways, but I would still be honored to have an invite to the White House. That's great publicity for the program too. I think it can only help recruiting following the tradition of national champions going to the White House. Also, Trump has mentioned Clemson is speeches on the campaign trail and is a huge fan of sports and winners. Even though there is much I don't agree with Trump about, I have no doubt Trump will do a great job meeting the Tigers at the White House and the experience will be great for all involved.

Speaking totally subjectively as a moderate conservative, I could see why Hispanic and African American members of our team may sit this one out and why it could be used negatively in recruiting. Mr. Trump's comments during the election and his recorded past make him the first openly racist President to be elected since Woodrow Wilson. I could see why a DT White House visit may be avoided.
“Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys wearing yarmulkes… Those are the only kind of people I want counting my money. Nobody else…Besides that, I tell you something else. I think that’s guy’s lazy. And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks,”
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re not sending you, they’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists… And some, I assume, are good people,”

Somebody needs to go read the definition of a fascist and see where it applies. You'll discover that there has been one in white house for last eight years.

Searches show the teams usually gets to the WH in early March but can be as late as mid April. Depends on scheduling.

Honestly, I think I would try and opt out if I were a player. Trump is not someone to be respected or admired...wouldn't want to be in any picture he was in...guilty by association and all that.
