Its boring, its repetitive, and other than laughing at drunk idiots from opposing teams beat each other in the stands, it has no redeeming qualities. It will never compare favorably to any American created sport, and thats just a fact.

So you’re saying that football is capitalist when there are NFL teams in every socialist city in the US?
Sports and politics are a poor mix. So are booze and keyboards.
There are, by far, more soccer fans than pigskin fans in all parts of the world with the whole spectrum of political beliefs.
So, you turned the valid point of soccer being boring and hard to watch unless drunk, into an absolute proclamation that you are a drunk and ignorant redneck. Nice job!

Goalie can use hands, feet, head. Flopping is encouraged.Referees carry a lot of colored index cards in their shorts. Don't skin your butt on grass, otherwise you will end up as a gif for eternity.

Lets use the EPL as an example:
- payouts are based on performance by team
- each team is free to draft and sign whoever they want, when they want
- if youre one of the worst teams, you get kicked out
- essentially no limit to what you can spend
- bad teams can expect zero assistance from the league
Now lets look at the NFL
- payouts are spread evenly
- there is a lottery that gives the best players to the worst teams
- there is a hard salary cap
Football is the socialist sport.

Than any European soccer league. The top clubs in world soccer utterly crush the competition in a capitalist way. While in American sports we give the worst teams the top picks which leads to far more parity.

America offers so many sports for people to play at the youth level. Most countries mainly play soccer because it is affordable and it's their only choice. It's all they know. It's not something I enjoy but I have no problem with it. If it gets people off of the couch and moving around then that's a good thing.

I’m not sure where this notion comes from but it’s simply not true. I’ve traveled to many poor countries and they have lots of sports to choose from ( baseball, cricket, rugby, basketball, tennis, swimming, etc.) Soccer is simply the most popular, and that’s all there is to it.

Most popular because there is little entry barrier. No real equipment to buy, no swimming pool or tennis court, boat, golf course, mountain or snow required. It is similar to basketball in this country.

end in a 0-0 tie and someone still can be victorious. That’s stupid! For all those who play soccer, I am sure it is a lot of fun to play and you are in great physical shape but I much rather watch paint dry then watch a soccer match. Perhaps if there are some changes to the game it may be more appealing. There’s need to be more scoring or something. Perhaps make the field half the size. I get very bored fast watching people constantly running around on grass for 3 hours.

I’ve noticed anything some Americans don’t like or don't understand is called “socialist”. It’s a ridiculous statement. The NFL is far more socialist with their policies. Baseball is way more boring. It doesn’t matter that you don’t like it. No one cares. I hate hockey, and no one cares, it doesn’t matter, just watch something else. Try cricket

I disagree.
Soccer is a Monarchist’s Sport. My evidence:
1 - Soccer was invented/evolved in England
2 - England has a Monarchy.
3 - Soccer is officiated by “Laws” not rules, that means those Laws are open to interpretation.
4 - In Soccer, the Referee is all powerful with very little oversight, exactly like a Monarch.
I like soccer, I watch a lot of soccer. I watch more soccer than most Americans, because my daughter is playing in college. BUT…..as an American, raised to believe that it is my God given right to question authority, I struggle mightily to accept the omnipotent infallibility of a Soccer Referee.
The way I say it regularly, “Soccer IS NOT committed to getting the call right, soccer IS COMMITTED to bowing down to the authority of the Referee……just like a Monarchy”.
