Dwayne Haskins and Big10 QBs ...

Will Haskins pitiful NFL display give NFL execs caution when it comes to picking B10 QBs in the future ?
I'm looking at you Justin Fields.

what i don't understand is why are Big 10 WRs so wide open?

go watch Justin Fields or old Haskins games. They march right down the field and there will be a 15 yard halo around ever WR so the completion % is so easy to achieve. How is it that their scheme is 75% pass and there is no one covered? Yet you watch our game saturday and the windows are not there at all. If Trevor had Field's windows he'd be doing better than all those other dudes. Is it a different scheme offensively or are they alway in prevent against OSU in teh Big Ten.. what gives?

Because they have a great OC. Ryan Day draws up plays and exploits matchups to get their wr’s open. It’s the same at Oklahoma with Lincoln Riley and Bama with Steve Sarkesian just to make a few more.

Because most of the Big 10 is slow outside of Ohio State and a select few players. They all used to be plodding teams until Urban got there. For every Joey Galloway there were 50 wide receivers that could not outrun Christian Wilkins lol

ten Jake Rudock, Conner Cook, and Mike Kafka's. The Big 10's second best known QB in recent times as far as the NFL is concerned was an ACC tranfer from Nancy's Tate, Russell Wilson. Brady is by far the anomaly.

The GOAT and another all-time great. Kirk Cousins has been decent too. Russell Wilson should count so that's a very, very good trio. Not much in the last 15 or so years though even counting Wilson.
Out of curiosity, how does the ACC compare since ~2000?
Rivers and Ryan are the two big ones. Deshaun and Lamar look promising. Trubisky is... fine. Winston has mostly been a bust. Brisette is a journeyman but has had an OK career. Bridgewater was OK before that bad injury.
Pretty solid.

I’m not sure it’s fair to judge a backup rookie QB after one half of football. The Redskins aren’t a great team. Haskins wasn’t getting first team snaps. Peyton Manning was the starter from the beginning and still threw 3 picks in his first game. I wish him the best, but I’ve never liked the Skins.
There have been legends like Brady and Brees but they are at the end of their careers. Russell Wilson for that one year ?? But recently there hasn’t been any impact QBs come out of that conference.

That was Haskins first game on a terrible team. It is meaningless. John Elway had 7 tds and 14 ints his rookie year. Troy Aikman was 9 tds and 18 ints. Terry Badshaw 6tds and 24ints. All 3 of them had terrible qb ratings. No telling how Haskins will be.

They generally run Pro-Style O's in the Big10, get long looks from scouts, gm's, etc.
