Only One Offensive Play Call Really Bothered Me...

Oct 4, 2015, 1:13 AM

It was when Watson threw the interception in the back corner of the end zone. We were running down hill with Gallman. Notre Dame looked like they we on the verge of quitting and I just didn't see the need to go for the home run the way the balls were being dropped. I thought we could have continue to pound the ball for some points.

Other than that I don't really have any major issues as the weather was so bad and we have no idea how fatigue the players were.

Wasn't it 3rd and nine ? Amounted to a long punt.

It wouldn't have changed my opinion even if he would have caught it for a TD. They started deep in there on territory and ran the ball over and over to midfield. They then end up picking up a pass interference call on 3rd down which gave them an automatic first down. Next play they go deep and it's picked off. They should have just continue to run the ball and get into scoring position while running out the third quarter. We were up 24-3 and did NOT have to score again, they did. Keep control of the clock and the field. Our D was playing great up until that point. I agree though. Other than that one play call, I had no issues whatsoever. The game was nowhere near as close as the final score.

i agree, but Morris would have made that call 3 times.

And thrown in a trick play for a INT.

That is the issue take chances when you should not and go conservative everywhere else. This resembles Spence's offense.
