in downtown Greenville so no PBP. There was some kind of soccer thing going on and the red team won I think.
Sloppy but exciting game. Just shows the outcome is often determined by 1 play or 1 misplay. Cagle battled and was pitching fine, 1 rise ball left in the middle of the zone cost her. I don’t believe she was tired…she’s used to throwing back to back games just a fat pitch that the batter took full advantage of.
Rittman elected to go w/ Val and ride her to the end. I have no problem with his decision. Before the game I thought he may go w/ Millie and have her on a short leash w/ VC close at hand…similar to FSU’s game plan.
We’ve proven we should host a regional…we’ll see what the ESECPN directorate decides…they’ll probably send us to Oklahoma.

We've proved that we can play with the best. It just sucks that we let FSU off the hook 3 times now. Every time we just had one bad defensive inning that we couldn't overcome.

The Lady Tigers did great. Very proud of them.
Defensive issues have cost us in games with elite teams. Continue to improve that. Which they have. Two relatively clean games with ND and VTech. We can make a run towards OKC.

She was tired and overheated. She pitched two full games in the middle of the day. FSU coaches had the right strategy by pitching three fresh starters! When you have 6 walks you are not having your best day.

our pitchers couldn’t see it. Val was fine…she made a bad pitch and paid for it. Plus, mid day in Pittsburgh is hardly mid day in the south in mid August. Val had low pitch count the night before.
Hindsight is always 20-20.
