we did force 3 TO’s and I don’t believe we scored points off of any of them. Could be important in a 17-14 game.

I’m not defending the posters position, but it is ludicrous to use our appearance in the ACCCG as proof we are good/deserving. The only team, with a winning record we played in the ACC we lost to. We were fortunate to have a really soft schedule in the ACC this year.

Venables had jimmys and joes. Our recruiting has not been up to snuff for several years. And it shows.

Those 3 TOs masked a poor performance

They probably should have had 2 more score based on the way they (sellars) were moving the ball
Those TO’s were very fortunate. We want to blame missed calls, but we were also very fortunate to even have a shot at the end of the game.
SCar scores 31 points and we’d all be calling for blood

Yes the defense deserves credit for that, but it's not a sustainable strategy.

It's like playing roulette to make an income. It might work for a day, or a few days, but you can't rely on it. You have to have realistic sustainable income. (tackling, gap integrity, yards per rush, etc)

You can make a consistent income if you play double-up/catch-up, but you have to know when to quit for the day.

Yeah but the same could be said about our 2 turnovers and turnover on downs at the gamecocks 5 yard line so that don't hold water

No, it holds water. We have our own set of issues on offense.
Giving up 250 rushing yards and praying for TO’s is a stupid strategy

I’m calling for blood anyway. I don’t have my head in the sand. It’s clear to see which direction things are heading. If we think that Dabo has done enough and he can just sit in his office and collect 11 million for the next five years, then we just need to come out and say it. But if we’re gonna continue to field a team every year, they need to be well coached.

A list of reasons to criticize Wes more than offense.
1

|
1. Defense is getting worse at stopping the run. / Offense is not getting worse.
2. LB play, specifically, is WAY worse than ever despite talent. / WR's got better this year.
3. DL, despite talent, even less effective this year / OL playing lightyears better
I understand the offense did not score enough points. And I understand that 17 points is not a lot for them to score. Despite that, based on all the details of the game of football, the defense is worse coached than the offense. I think the SMU game will make this clearer to everyone, just like I said the Louisville game would expose how bad our defense was, and just like I said SCAR will be able to run on us too easily.

of stopping a single play. We never stopped the QB run. Ever. They averaged like 15 or 16 yards PER PLAY on that. They should have ran it more often. They would have won by much more.
A gameplan isn't effective if there is a single play that we can't even SLOW DOWN a single time.

I am talking about both his scrambles and his designed runs.

They were telling him to have a quick trigger pull on the run several times toward the end. Plenty of those scrambles were not last-ditch abandoning of the pass play, though some were created with terrible tackling and contain. Sellers running became their bread and butter. Passing plays were like an option for him.
Once it became clear we could not stop any form of QB run then it was only a matter of time until they won.

We had sellers dead on arrival on all his bit run plays. Bad tackling. So scheme was good. Tackling not great.

Got that right but let's blame him for the loss. Meanwhile they score 14 points and that's not why they lost. Lol. Baffling the thought process of some people.
