On reflection

Sep 19, 2021, 11:45 PM

The immediate aftermath of a game where we appeared to play poorly is a sense of loss.

But it wasn't a loss.

Sure, we looked inept at times, but late in the game, the offense drove the field twice. With authority. We only got points on one of those drives, but it looked like things were starting to come together. DJ was running and was animated following plays. The first time we've seen that emotion from him. Shipley was playing like a veteran - and maybe he now is. And the offensive line was making some plays. It wasn't quite the crap show that most on here have alluded to.

There's promise and there's hope. And we're 2-1 with that 1 loss to the No. 2 team in the nation - by a defensive touchdown.

So, the day after, with some time to reflect, things were not a bad as they had seemed, there were reasons to be positive and upbeat.

So many on this bulletin board impugn the motives, effort, and heart of players and coaches. It's OK to be upset. It's not OK to be anti-Tiger, hateful, and myopic.

Let's try, really hard, not to act like spoiled brats who can't take a hit. We can take it and we'll still cheer.

And for those of you that are still bitching, train some of that outrage on the Clemson crowd. Talk about uninspired. We cheered for the "25 seconds" then we sat down and piddled. Truly, we're not the same home crowd that cheered against ND in the rain in 2015. How dare you think that lethargy would NOT be missed by the team.

I am sure glad you are not a vampire;
Vampires have no reflection and right now we have no offense.
I'm just glad we didn't play somebody that knows how to score touchdowns instead of field goals.
Now ,how that for being positive and upbeat?
