Offensive line

I know our D is nasty and the defensive front may be the best in the nation.
I know we have lost a lot of offensive lineman.
But…really! It just seems like our OL is again going to be a major weakness and hold us back again this year.
Do you agree?

Until the O-line proves otherwise, there is every reason to doubt them.

It also doesn't help when you only sign to two OL for the 2020 class.

How well can one evaluate their performance seeing they are split up? Or was it obviously just bad?

I think the starting five will be a big improvement over last season when we didn't have a center for the first half of the season. LT McFadden LG Tate C Putnam/Linthicum RG Pennington/Trotter RT Parks

Well, some of the awful line play today was on the right side where a Freshman was playing. He was eaten alive. I think the first team O-line will be better but getting the out quickly will be imperative.

IMO, it wasn't fair to Cade that Myles Murphy was on him so quickly almost every play.

I'm with you on that. Definite improvement, but is it enough.

Yes! The ex Vandy Coach Caldwell has stunk it up for years. Remember the Mauldin kid who got death threats after Caldwell stuck him at center(which he never played) after C1 got injured? Awful Coach and awful developer and we’re stuck for a few years before everyone associated with that mess is gone.

If you want to talk about bad a bad o-line for years to come, we could look at yours. Rattler is going to get sacked at least 3 times a game with your pitiful o-line.

Said it before and I feel like we have been saying the same thing for a very long time … it blows my mind to think how inconsistent and bad we have been on the O line (injuries or not) over the this run , not just the last few years … go back and watch the title games , to be a program a high as we were and still not be able to either recruit or develop an o line that I would even put in the top 15 is baffling… I just do not understand why we can’t recruit there
