Observations and a theory

Something that jumped out at me immediately last night was tackling. Overall, it looked razor sharp. Guys were being dropped at the point of impact, form was excellent, and there were some key stops that were due to excellent tackling. Of course there were some missed tackles, but overall, I thought this looked like someone had really made a point of emphasis on it.

As for the DJ/Cade talk. I got to wondering last night....did Dabo feel like DJ would get replaced eventually? Did Dabo anticipate a transfer and is that the main reason he asked Hunter Johnson to return to play, not just work as a grad assistant? Just some thoughts.

And all you coots reading this.....kiss my @$$ you rotten lowlifes.

I noticed a few missed tackles by CB's last night...not wrapping up. Other than that, I agree.

To your main point, I think everybody knows (yes, including Dabo) what "could" transpire if Cade were to take over---we saw it with the KB situation. And yes, that certainly proves that Dabo can/will make a change if it's best for the team. So it's probably no coincidence the HJ is on the team.

As to your 3rd point, yes: skrew the coots.

If Cade becomes the starter, I don't believe DJ will sit around as backup. He will transfer rather quickly I believe.

I agree with you on tackling. I hope they can continue this in upcoming games. My theory on DJ is that our offensive staff wants him to be a drop back passer like a pro style QB. So he drops back into the pocket, it breaks down after two seconds and he then acts like he does not know what to do.

It seems to me that both Deshawn and Trevor were always rolling out of the pocket and making throws like Cade did when he came in. When DJ falls back into the pocket it always looks like he is moving in sand. IMO...

Tackling in week 1 is usually pretty bad. Last night was pretty good. There were a lot of 3rd and fives instead of 3rd and 2 last night. Dabo is in great shape if Cade becomes the starter because he will have HJ as the backup.
