What an A**hole
Every one of these players committed to come to Clemson because they felt that it was the right place for them and were recruited for a reason. If any player or players family read this board they'd probably go somewhere else knowing this is how the fans will treat them. Jeez

Unless it’s to go pro or if they were a distraction/bad attitude, never want to see guys leave. Product of the times and also why I don’t follow as close as I used to and dropped my IPTAY. (Altho I’m sure I’ll pick it back up when I’m done pouting) Why as a fan should I invest in them if they’re not invested in Clemson?

They DID invest in Clemson. Some moved across the country and very far away from their family. As you said, product of the times. Coach doesn't commit to the players why should they commit fully to him?

Especially for TP, who I'm sure will be an MLB prospect in 2027/2028, playing time is essential at this point. He got recruited over, and he's making the business decision to leave. I didn't see the same animosity towards Bissetta, Brown, Lee, etc. when they transferred out, and they have similar reasons for leaving.
I think this is a different situation than leaving for money, Billy Amick is a prime example. He had a guaranteed spot on the roster in 2024 and left for more money at Tennessee; that is a move I can't respect. If he stayed until last year, I think Omaha would have been the floor for that team.
I also wouldn't be shocked (and this might just be wishful thinking) if this is a security play to wait on whether or not Wideman goes to the MLB. The draft is after the last day to enter, so if he waits too long and Wideman stays, that's another year wasted for his development. If Wideman doesn't end up at Clemson, he might stay due to the fact that he will probably start at least half of the games next year.

You are one of the few on here with reasonable thinking. Thank you for the good baseball discussion as opposed to the vitriol spewed by many.

It really irks me seeing so many adults bash literal teenagers because they try to do what’s best for their career. Obviously I’d rather he stay at Clemson, but if he moves on to a better opportunity I can’t blame him, everyone does it in their personal lives. I mean hell, Virginia’s coach and Duke’s coach just left for more money, and that is accepted at this point.
This is a baseball board, so I like that at least a few people stick to objective discussion without emotions thrown into it. It sucks that he’s leaving, but we have plenty of talent coming in to take his spot. All we can do now is hope he doesn’t go anywhere he can do damage against us.

Season is over. There’s no point to these continued vindictive posts about the team
