Now that RN is committed..

Jun 15, 2012, 5:10 PM

I feel good about being able to hold on to him for a few reasons:

1) His teammates and best friend are solid commits
2) Relationship between Dabo and RN's coach. Both Dabo and the high school coach believe in commitments being serious, not a loose term to throw around.
3) I understand with Bama's defense there was some talk of using him at OLB and he want to remain a DE.
4) He will definitely start from day 1 here.
5) Well, this is just what Dabo does. He builds relationships with players and he's got this recruiting thing down pat, not his first rodeo. He passionately sells the Clemson brand and is very persuasive. He could sell ice cubes to an eskimo.

With those things said, there is always that fear in the back of your mind with a high profile recruit. My question is, does anyone know the time table for early enroll players? When do decisions like that get made? (as far as starting the process of applying and getting the whole thing rolling) When did we know that Blanks and crew planned to enroll in January last year? February is a long time, but I feel that the time we have to hold on is cut in half if we can get RN in here in January. Just looking for some insight.

Go Tigers!

Academically all 3 of the Grayson Trio are on track to enroll early but no decisions have been made. I think they have to figure out before they start their senior year and plan their classes accordingly. So we could know around August

Yea I figured they would be on track. And like you mentioned you have to make the decision to get on the path to early graduation towards the beginning of your senior year. If RN and crew plan with Dabo around Sept-Oct to make it happen that'd be awesome. Just hoping an early enroll will eliminate some of that rift-raft that occurs near signing day. Hope to see them roaming campus in Jan!

hadn't thought about that, but that would be great for clemson and the kids themselves ( i think it would help them concentrate better on their sr. year in hs). gives them a head start on the other freshmen coming in.
