Now that Clemson football season is over, I cordially invite you

to get behind our men’s basketball team.
We are 11-3, and have won 7 of our last 8 games.
We are 3-0 in the ACC. Our margin of victory in those three ACC games is just over 15 points per game.
We have a nice collection of stars, including guard Chase Hunter, forward Hunter Tyson, and big man PJ Hall. We’ve gotten nice contributions from other players as well.
Our freshmen are gradually getting more minutes. RJ Godfrey is arguably the best freshman on the team, and just got his first start of the season in our last game.
We are a good three point shooting team, a good free throw shooting team, and we move the ball really well on offense. Our defense is steadily improving. We play hard, and are a cohesive unit.
For those of you who haven’t really watched us yet this year, check us out. I think you’ll like this team. We have a tough road game against Virginia Tech on Wednesday. We can certainly beat them, but they tend to be especially good at home.

I watch every game. Ever. We are not good and you suck worse than us. Enjoy trying to defend our borderline NIT team all year. You will look like an idiot for the 5th year in a row.
I ask you to show the same support for football. And quit attacking people for not sucking brad's D while constantly attacking the current football staff. If you had the same energy for ALL Clemson athletics, maybe someone would take you seriously.
That being said, despite your ignorance, I will support this team to overachieve despite our lack of coaching.

I was behind them when we played the gamecocks. Then disappeared somewhere behind the team when we lost to the gamecocks. I will be in sight again as soon as we make the field of 64 (or 68 or 70 or whatever it is now).

You make me want to pull against the bball team. I won’t because I love Clemson but your hate for all things Clemson football and Dabo make it hard. Especially when you defend basketball to the death despite lasting mediocrity. If Clemson football was as mediocre as bball I couldn’t imagine the hate you would spew. Dabo took over a mediocre team just like Brad. Compare the accomplishments.

So no logical response to why you hold Clemson basketball to a different standard than Clemson football. Despite the fact that both current coaches took over mediocre failing teams. I love the fact basketball is doing good so far. I take my children to multiple games each season.
Still waiting for one positive post on football. I have a feeling I’ll be waiting forever.

But if you’re asking why someone would hold Clemson basketball to a different standard than Clemson football, you might want to look more closely at:
-The history of both sports at Clemson over the last 100+ years
-How funding for the two sports at Clemson compares to their ACC peers
-How fan support for the two sports at Clemson compares to their ACC peers
I have made plenty of positive posts on football. Dabo has done a great job and we should be very proud of the program he built.
But I want to see us return to being an elite program, and am concerned that some of the decisions that have been made not only caused us to regress, but are also going to move us farther away from that if we don’t change course.
I don’t feel that Dabo is above being questioned or doubted. He’s paid like a playoff level coach, and the program is supported like a playoff caliber program. We should expect to be better than merely top 15ish.

The points you made are the reasons why Clemson should make a Coaching change if we don’t at least make the tourney this year. Clemson is a football school whose fans and alumni will get get on the Basketball bandwagon when we are winning or when there is something to be excited about. If we are not winning perhaps a change will bring some interest back.
Your comparison to other ACC schools is a little weak. UVA, Duke, Louisville, Syracuse and UNC are basketball schools. Half of the ACC is mediocre at both sports and don’t put any money into their football programs. FSU is really the only valid comparison and we would put a statue up of Brownell in Littlejohn if he had the same success that Hamilton has had at FSU.

Only 1 bad loss which may hurt us come selection time. I am glad didn't watch. I have watched 3 games so far and we look like a team that could win a game or two or whatever in the NCAA Tournment. I m enjoying what I am seeing. The next 2 games on the road will be tough. If we can split those I will be thrilled.
