Cain has all the talent in the world but he was SELFISH and chose drugs over the team. I don't care what your views are on POT are whatever illegal drug(s) he used. It is against the team rules and NCAA rules.
I hope he gets his life straight but I say no sympathy for him at all.

I just wish there was a way they could test the underage players for Alcohol as well....
Not really fair to send a guy home for smoking a blunt when theres no punishment for the ones that probably get hammered drunk all the time....

Alcohol is not illegal except most players are under 21. However, as long as the law says Pot is a banned substance, the players either need to not partake or not play football.
I hate the players let down the team. I can promise Cain will be on Dabo's S-List for a long time to come. It is not all about athletics, it's about using your brain.

What difference does that make when you're talking about underage players?
It is equally illegal for Deon Cain to smoke a joint as it is for him to drink alcohol underage.
Folks who suggest that one is worse than the other probably lean on the side of believing most of the pot propaganda from the 1960s-90s.

for poor decisions. But, are you saying that if you had a family member that abused illegal substances, you would have "NO" sympathy for them? Having sympathy for someone does not mean you cut them slack and not punish them.
I assure you Coach Dabo Swinney has sympathy for all three of the kids sent home early. They have a problem that is much bigger than a football game, and he certainly knows that.
