NOT trying to be critical, but it is frustrating to read
Dec 8, 2022, 10:11 AM

comments from Coach Streeter about how "they saw it coming in practice", yet we kept CK2 on the shelf in favor of DJ5, when everybody saw how DJ5 played during games. #22, Turner...."we saw it in practice".... yet we kept playing EJ Williams and kept #22 on the bench... What did you see in practice from #6, I wonder?
Frustrating...
I believe, have we had Ck2 on the final drive again SC, he would've put us within field goal range for BT to seal that game.

During the time leading up, he'd benefit from Clemson's Nutrition, Strength & Conditioning programs. He needed it coming out of HS at 6'2", ~175?

We all saw that Cade was the better QB in spring practice so no idea why it took until December to get him into a game with a realistic chance to play with the starters not on his own goal line.

You didn't see that in spring practice.

You didn't see any spring practiced for that matter.
Cade was 11 for 22 and 98 yards, a TD and one terrible decision INT prior to UNC. He had 58 yds rushing as well.
At no point did you see Cade playing better than DJ previous to UNC.
Let it go.

It wouldn't have kept him from being ran on to the field as he'd still be able to redshirt.

constantly and when someone simply ask you a question to get at what your point is you get defensive? Maybe not talk down to people when your points are dull?
Had better expectations of you than what you've been showing lately. I thought the other day maybe was just you're taking what I said the wrong way. It's obvious now that you just want to spar no matter the topic.

And really, I thought you'd be quite comfortable with that as you've said nearly the same about Dabo.
You're led by anger, the frenzy, lashing out, judgement clouded by emotion as if drunk, and all based on relatively none of the information.
That sort of process is patently daft and not a good look.
You're Clemson and supposedly better than that, or so I'm told.

There's a difference in an open receiver

and a WR who blows off the top. If DJ could just chuck the ball down field to a wide open guy running full throttle it could have made a world of difference.
But i'd rather have an open receiver and a halfway decent QB. We didn't get either.

Our coaches have the problem where they can never admit they're wrong. We clearly could have beat South Carolina, but Dabo/Streeter did not want to look like they waffled with QB. Dabo is an "image coach" now, not a "W's coach". I'm happy to win 10 games, but it's denial to not be frustrated that we've willingly and deliberately decided to not win natty's. Hiring Streeter for OC without bringing in top 50 OCs to interview is a clear indication that Dabo is satisfied with his natty total. Time to coast and let his sons get some glory.

how much more effective the execution of the offense was with Cade, even though he was out there with all of the backups. Had he had meaningful time with the first string all year, he could have stepped in in the 2nd quarter of the ND game and we would have easily won.

11 of 22 (50%) for 98 yds with a TD and a terrible INT.
Dec 8, 2022, 12:01 PM

He also had a whopping ~ 60 yds rushing.
He was given a shot to take the job at ND (according to Dabo), but he immediately panicked and made a very poor decision on the INT. That's why he sat back down.
What did you see, exactly?

Same thing they said all along.
Cole is being redshirt.
We led the SC game until 10 minutes left. It was rhe 2nd to last possession when DJ missed an open guy and threw an INT. We weren't going to throw the true freshman out there with 1 or 2 possessions left.
I'd recommend letting go of your frustration now.

Pretty sure that they were trying to maintain a redshirt year for Turner, this was his 4th game so max to keep that. Also, with only one year of high school football at his position don't you imagine he's got a lot to learn about the details? Sure appears he's got natural talent fo sho.

I do so appreciate the way you framed your opinion.

I have to agree that the process of swapping QBs was a mystery which I do not think anyone other than our coaches fully comprehended.
I will however point out that 'They saw it coming in practice,' vs 'Everybody saw it on the field,' suggest that they saw in practice that which had not yet come.
What we saw was DJ's failure on the field. We did not see practices where Cade had progress and therefor we were not able to make fair evaluations of the two during the week.
I agree that Cade should have started the Scar game. I agree that he was the better option to have been successful on that last drive. I believe if he had played in the Scar game the committee would have been influenced by our success to deem us worth for the Playoff.
I hate that it didn't happen like I wanted and hope we never see that happen again. I can grieve or I can take it with a gram of slaw and behave like an adult, maybe.

so your belief is that we don't fumble if CJ2 is in... it was Dj's fault.
The season was frustrating for sure... and the woulda-shoulda-coulda is all we can do, which means nothing in the end. Cade's the guy let's go beat Tennessee and win the last game.
