Are in the losers bracket or eliminated. That includes vandy, Texas, Ole miss, clemson, Oregon state, southern miss, Oregon, and Georgia. Makes me feel a bit better, but I dont remember another season where this many hosts were in the losers bracket

Not to me. We haven’t been to Omaha in 25 years. This is getting old .

And the current coach has been here 3 years and has improved the program dramatically. It genuinely seems to have escaped everyone that we missed the post-season altogether back-to-back years under Lee and it probably would have been 3 if 2020 hadn’t been cancelled, we might not have made it that year either. Despite being 14-3 when they shut the season down, we had played nobody. Our best two opponents had RPIs in the 50s and we lost both of them. Our best win and all remaining opponents had RPIs of 90 or greater. Our remaining schedule had 26 remaining games with opponents better than anyone we had managed to beat.

About time to start pulling for Coastal Carolina. They poured it on east Carolina last night.

There are good players all over the country and to think every host/seed team would waltz through is just ridiculous.

College baseball is the last bastion of underdog spirit left in college sports.

That's why college baseball is great. There's still parity. The only 1 seed in a hole who I think can climb out is Texas. While it doesn't lessen the sting from last night, it just shows just how tough it is to make it to Omaha. Let alone win it all.

It definitely is the best playoff format in all of sports. You do not get through this entire thing unless you are the best team.
That makes Coastal’s run in 2016 so much more amazing. I think that’s the coolest thing I’ve ever witnessed in sports.

That was a good one. For me it was watching Fresno stick it to UGA in 2008 I believe. They were told they didn't belong and took home the hardware. Good book called "The Road to Omaha" that covers it too.

each of those still the favorites or 50/50. Doubt the others have much of a chance. Clemson is probably 7th on that list because Oregon is already out.

The big difference is that many of those teams have great pitching depth and we do not. Many of them also have much better offenses than we do. I still think it is remotely possible but definitely unlikely for us to advance.

dig them out of the hole - so much I’d still call them the favorites. We are not one of those - our chances are probably closer to 15%. Going to need some luck and some unexpected players stepping up.
