category for this Corona/Bud Lite virus? I know I am, 65 years old and Type 2 Diabetic. Keep that chit away from me. Luckily, I am retired, so the self quarantine part is relatively easy. Hopefully there is an established WORKING vaccine / cure protocol soon. Much like the flu, despite all precautions, I believe eventual EXPOSURE is a given. Then, the question becomes, do you get ill and recover, or not. Obviously (at least to me) spreading out the cases so that the hospitals are not overwhelmed / overrun makes sense. That is all the social distancing, etc, will really accomplish.

defibrillator/pacemaker implant. Doc says that because my heart and lung function is good, and I'm only 60, I'm not really "high risk". He said that while I'm certainly at higer risk than a healthy 20 year old, they are really thinking of people older and more compromised than me. Still, I'm laying pretty low, as the key is to blunt the spread and keep our hospitals, ERs, and doctors able to manage the load so we'll have a bed and a ventilator if we need it.

But I have had 3 auto immune diseases as well as lymphoma so on one hand I would like to think my immune system is battle tested but on the other hand it means it’s weaker

getting infusions which make her highly vulnerable. I am 56 and have asthma so I am always concerned about respiratory illnesses. We are very concerned about attending the upcoming football season.

63, copd, afib, cad. Bride sicker than I. Been at home 2 weeks but work pressuring me to come back Monday... Even though it's not costing them a dime. Contemplating rather to quit.

You should stay home. I own a business and I've had my employees working from home for the past 3 weeks. One employee has a spouse with immune deficiencies. Our office building has 4 companies in it and shared facilities, plus a nightly cleaning crew. Basically, I couldn't guarantee her safety and if she got it, her husband would get it and he could die. I care, so I wanted people to stay out of the office.
However, the part of my brain that thinks it's a lawyer thought about the business risk and only solidified my position.
I would think a level-headed conversation with your company's HR person would settle this fast. If you're able to effectively work from home, you should do that 10 times out of 10.

I am 100% high risk more so than anyone so far on this thread. No one wants my history. Yet I have survived and know from experience most
will get through this to the other side. We are
capable of far more than we think. Don’t let fear prevail. Stay strong friends and be of good faith. Trust in the Good Lord and know He is always with us.

Friends here on TNet of all ages and backgrounds, to our visitors and to those in this thread who may be in a higher risk category.
Although a higher risk due to my 73 years, I am blessed with good health and have been assisting older and younger friends at higher risk here in the Columbia area with errands, shopping, etc.

68 and way overweight but I do not worry. Men on my Father's side usually die around 70 from heart attacks or strokes. Like fall out of the chair dead. I do not go looking for termination but I do not spend a lot of time worrying about it. Just try to enjoy the life that I have left and help others to look at it the same way.

5'11", 185, 90 and in good shape. Can do as many push-ups and sit-ups today as I did when I was in my 20's. However, who knows what tomorrow brings? I'm staying inside!! My eternity is secured in the Lord!

I'm 98.32, ugly, thinning grey hair, have a couple of moles, a partially frozen left shoulder and a hole in my sock on my right foot. I suppose that qualifies me as being vulnerable so I'm going to stay in until it's safe to go out.

Be 70 in a month, pacemaker, multiple heart surgeries, but doggone healthy now and I do everything I want to do. Of course, I only look mid-40's, so I'm probably safe.
Also, I am laying low most days. The things I prefer to do and are active doing are currently canceled right now until further notice.
Some of that is true.

I am 90.66 , 5’9”, 182 pounds and in reasonably good health for an old guy. Can still lay flat on my back and raise up to touch my toes. At least once. Doctor told me recently that I was the best looking and the healthiest 90 year old he had seen and was on my way to 100.
Live in a retirement community cottage and we have a case in the Assisted Living building. We are locked down with food delivered to cottage and independent living buildings. The staff is doing everything possible to keep us safe.
Just hope to survive this thing and fulfill the Doc’s prediction.

I'm nearly 63 non-smoker but overweight. I walk a lot and play a pretty good round of golf (in a cart, I'm not a Neanderthal). More athletic than many my age and when I golf with people my age I usually hit the ball much further. I still work as we don't have a shelter order here in Florida.
At Risk? Somewhat but praying for God's protection over me and my family. My mother is 92 and lives with my sister in Charlotte.
Impressed at the number of older folks (80+) on this board. Be Safe!

49, blood thinners, and SBS. I don't think my body can go through another 5 week hospital stay since I got out less than 2 years ago. Just happen to be an essential employee with the Fed, so I'm done and done if I get this. Just got to be smart and lucky.
