There was some talk here about Buying the Dip back in March/April. For you

dip buyers - is it time to take those profits? I don't think the tariff turmoil has made its long-term adverse effect on the market - yet. So, I'm leaning toward doing some profit taking. (Keep in mind - 60% of the time, I'm wrong 100% of the time)
What say ye? Do we take the money and run?

No. I bought aggressively back in March and April also. Buy and hold but that’s just me I guess. It’s all I’ve done for 4 decades and it works out just fine.

I bought a bunch of AI EFTs. They are doing great but I think they are great long term buys as well. I will keep and eye but plan on riding them.

I know it's generally a bad idea to try to time the market. I took a chance with

some of my cash "reserves" to try to make a quick buck - so I went in specifically planning NOT to make these investments long-term.
If I sell now - the gamble has paid off. My ample gut feeling is that these profits are going to start to erode.

The question becomes what to do with the profits.
That’s the drawback to trots time the market especially if you not extremely attentive and knowledgeable.

For me - the profits will just be dropped back into the cash reserves, with the possibility to do something frivolous with it...maybe an extra vacation.

probably sell today under the assumption that Donny will say or do something dumb this weekend that tanks to market on Monday. That’s been the MO Bad news on Friday after the market closes so he and his fraudulent cronies can take their profits Friday and start the con again on Monday

VOO and VTI are examples of those. There are also funds that mirror European indices if you’re looking to hedge our market movement

I rebalanced and moved cash into stocks and have done very well. Probably a little overexposed in stocks for my age but trying to time the market on a consistent basis is a fools errand unless you're doing it for a living.

I’m with you. Same here. I’m 61 and 75% of my investment portfolio is in equities. I ain’t skeered. Back in March/April I posted that I had 100% confidence we would all be happy with the market by years end. I was wrong!! I’m happy now! Dang that was a fast recovery and then some.

When he lost the trade negotiations with China and allowed higher tier NVidia chips to be exported there, the stock really took off again. Some of this grift is really targeted.

If he follows through next week with reinstalling tariffs, we’ll get another dip. If he chickens out, we probably won’t. Nobody knows what he’s going to do except for his friends, family, and kompromat holders.
