Clemson/LSU, FSU/Bama.

One of them will be at 3:30. 95 degrees.
One of them will be at 8:00. 85 degrees and 95% humidity.

If I was attending, I'd prefer the 10 degrees cooler and suffer thru the humidity.

August/September games should all be at night. Day games are literally unsafe

We did it. And if you needed water back in the day it was considered weak. Just didn’t know better.

I coulda been a contender, if they had just given me water.

In Texas

we did our first two-a-day around 7 a.m. when it was only in the 80s.

Then we'd go back to the gym and spend the day laying around until about 3 when we'd hit the field again when it was only 100'.

Things don't really cool down in Texas 'til November, half the season we practiced/played in triple-digit temps and half the season we practiced/played in 90-degree temps.

And we were all dumb enough to wonder why we couldn't gain weight no matter how much we ate ...

So the idea of sitting in shorts and short sleeves in Death Valley in late August to watch a football game isn't very daunting.

As to water, one of our coaches, who was ironically our Old Testament teacher and at the same time the most ill-tempered b*ast*ard of a coach I ever had the displeasure of playing for, one day KICKED all the Igloos over because the linemen kept dipping their cups into the ice water instead of using the little spiggot.

So we got to spend the rest of the day sipping from the hose.

He was a real gem.

These days, he'd be fired, arrested, and sued. Back then, parents just said "well, keep your hands out of the Igloos next time."

The hottest football game I have ever attended....

.... was noon game. FSU vs. Clemson, 9/11/1993. I won't bore you with the details of the game. But, I will tell you that it was hot, humid and 0 breeze. When a slight puff of breeze came through the stadium, which wasn't very often, you could hear an aubile "Ahhh" as it came from one end of the stadium to the other. (Sortal like a verbal wave.) When I heard the "Ahhh" I would literally stand up and face the direction from which it was coming just to feel the little puff of breeze.

What's the noon game on ABC/ESPN? I'm thinking ESPN will want a big game to go head to head against Ohio State- Texas on FOX.

The best AD in Clemson history has no control over kickoff times moran. Besides the Clemson/LSU game will be 7:30 on ABC.

My concern about a kick at noon brings into question our depth.

It is well known we lack the depth needed that most title contenders possess. We too , at one time had this luxury

Rotation is key to avoid exhaustion and cramping etc,

O line depth isn't ideal but it's better there than has been .

My concern is LB and secondary

They could run our boys ragged if we struggle defensively

as an aside....a weatherman explained to me one time that its the dew point temperature that tells you how humid (or muggy) it actually is and not the humidity. It can be cold outside and the humidity % be high.

Once that dew point hits 65, its humid for certain, once it gets 70, its that true southern 'humidity' that makes it tough...when it gets anything over 70, you start dripping sweat just by opening the front door.

We were the second NCAA team to get Gatorade, Florida being the first. Those Gatorade breaks during August practice were a welcomed break and helped get us through Coach Howard's torturous practices.
