Talking to someone connected to powers the SEC is interested in UNC and UVA because of the media market. We have a successful football program but future might look iffy. Only hope is a 64 football deal but not sure the big 2 give in unless 32 teams each with a play off of 12 with 6 from each conference.

Still don't know why they are interested in UVA. I guess they would not be a threat athletically and the other SEC teams could chalk up a win in most sports.

The 10th most viewed program will NOT ultimately be left out of big boy football. 2022 was not a stellar season for us. I would be curious to know if those numbers held this year?

How much power does S Carolina have to keep us out? The SEC and the Big have the power to with draw from the NCAA. The question is what do the want going forward. FSU being left out should let you know where we stand. Hope DABO knows what is ahead and we are included. Only time will tell.

And they deny this report, accurately stating expansion isn’t about “tv markets”, because a market is irrelevant unless people actually want to watch them on TV.
Your school can be in Podunk, South Dakota, but if the nation wants to see you on TV then you are a coveted program.
Outside of ND, Clemson is the most marketable free agent in the expansion of superconferences.
It’s about TV marketability for the cash cows, football. Not area or population in the local region.
