Is this the first year no one is safe?

Yes 4 teams control their own destiny. However, I don’t remember a year where no team was automatically in even with a loss. Happy to hear opinions on these scenarios:
UGA out if Bama, Mich, FSU, Wash win
Bama out with loss or win if Mich, FSU, Wash, and Texas also win
Mich out if UGA or Bama, Iowa, FSU, Wash, Texas win
Wash out with a loss and wins by two of FSU, Mich, and Texas
FSU, Oregon, Texas likely out with loss
Would love to see Bama, Michigan, FSU, Washington, and Texas win for the drama
Expect to see UGA, Michigan, Louisville, Oregon and Texas win because it is how the ACC works

Would love scenario #2 and SEC left out so they can all cry and go suck it. 12 team playoff likely has 3 sec teams if not 4 next year.

That is the ONLY reason the playoffs was extended to 12 teams, they feel that would make it easier to get two SEC teams in the NCG, and if not for that it would have stayed at 4 teams!!!

I would love to see it also. But no way will the sec be left out ? ESPN was full blown Georgia gets in even if they lose , 😂 even finenbaum said he will beat the door down on Saturday /Sunday to declare no way you can leave the sec out that Florida state does not deserve to get in if Bama beats Georgia. I’m afraid there is no way dev gets left out. Michigan if they win Oregon/Washington winner Florida state possibly They will debate between Georgia, Bama , and Texas I believe. I feel like Bama, Texas or Florida state is gonna get screwed. I doubt the two time defending champion gets left out. I believe only champions should get the nod. Then 1loss teams if there isn’t undefeated and 1 lossc champs But I believe Georgia will beat Bama

If UGA loses by a FG, I think it gets real interesting…

The only school with any chance to get in with a loss...

.... is UGA, and it would take a boatload of upsets for it to happen.
If UGA loses
1. Winner of Wash/Ore is in 2. FSU wins and they are in. 3. Michigan wins and they are in. 4. Texas wins and they are ranked ahead of Bama who will be ranked ahead of UGA.
So, for UGA to even have a shot, Michigan and FSU and Texas would have to suffer 2 losses among the group. FSU is the most likely of the three. the other two are around 10 pt favorites.
UGA's best chance would be
Washington and Michigan win. FSU and Texas lose.

There is no chance that the committee would leave the SEC champion out with less than two losses. Especially when that someone is Alabama. The human element and recent bias puts Bama in, no matter if Texas is .00001 better to a computer. Today's Tide beats today's Longhorns anyway.

It’s not a computer, it is a game played on the field at Bryant-Denny stadium. Without dynamic scheduling we can’t determine an on the field champion with 120+ teams and a 12 game season. What we do get is 12 games on the field to provide input and in this case Bama lost at home. If Texas wins you can’t move Bama ahead and claim objectivity.
