There was concern about Trump's love of Putin, and his support from within the Russian government as far back as 2016. It was mocked as a hoax, because of a false allegation about a pee tape.
But the basic thrust of the argument - that Trump is in favor of Russia over our European allies - seems to be correct.
We're now aligned with dictatorships.
It's disgusting & reprehensible, and I've never been more disappointed in our government than I am today.
The longer this goes on, the more likely the US will end up in a dictatorship. That seems to be the type of leader that Trump wants to emulate. I pray to God that I'm wrong. But so far, everything I worried might happen with a Trump 2.0 is happening. And almost all of it is very bad.

Replace all of Russia’s military leaders with people loyal to him Replace all of Russia’s law enforcement with people loyal to him Crush the free press and punish anyone who disagrees with him
Feels like I’ve seen that happen here recently

For military officers who he felt disagreed with him. No president ever before banned a news outlet from Air Force one because he didn’t like stories they published. No president before would tell a “rival” media outlet like CNN in front of a foreign president that their questions are stupid and they should focus more on getting their ratings up than asking them.

But, you don't cut off the legs of the invaded sovereign country and publicly call their leader a dictator prior to engaging in "peace talks" with the invading country, unless you are already geared and slanted toward sympathizing with the invading country.
Lets say we had decided we weren't going to send any more money or arms (or certainly man-power) to Ukraine (again, the INVADED sovereign country). I might disagree with that, but lets say that was the decision. You don't have to publicly insult the leader of Ukraine and call *him* the dictator in this situation. You don't have to publicly blame the war on Ukraine. You don't have to do the dog and pony show where you mock and bully their leader as he comes hat-in-hand.
You only do that if your intention is to weaken rather than strengthen Ukraine in the eyes of the public.
You can, behind the scenes, not offer more support buy still stand firm before the camera while calling Putin the country-invading war-starting dictator he is. Or even, at absolute worst, you can remain silent.
You can't attack Ukraine and claim you aren't supporting Russia's invasion in this, because that's precisely the outcome.

Puppet talk, for which his minions quickly parrot.

It began is really really simple money laundering.
After the Soviet union fell, Russian oligarchs needed to launder money with their newfound wealth.
Trump was in bad shape financially. His casino went bankrupt. His casino bonds were junk bonds trading at 14%.
So he sold 70% of the unit and Trump Tavern, New York to Russian cash buyers. They sent the money through Cyprus, then through a couple shell companies. Trump gave them a discount for paying in cash.
This is not news. This was well-known in New York. This is one reason and a long list of reasons why all American banks stopped lending to Donald Trump in 2001.
Other reasons were:
He constantly violated lung covenants. He did not keep up with loan payments. He often defaulted on loans. Lenders attempting to negotiate lower settlements.
So ALL domestic banks stopped lending to him in 2001. That is a fact.

Pretty sure if Trump canceled elections and threw journalists who had the wrong opinions in prison the board trash would rightly be calling him a dictator but when your boy Zelensky does those things he's a noble hero and anyone who doesn't kiss his ### is the actual dictator loving problem. Do you idiots even hear yourselves or are you all just bots spamming the same BS threads over and over for no apparent reason?
