Movie people..what movie had this plot?

Dude goes fishing, or hunting, or something, ends up in some big fighting struggle with whatever he is after, ends up killing it, or beating it, or something, and eventually kills it, only to wake up and realize that he was in some mind altered state and killed every one he went hunting/fishing with, and then whatever he was after is still alive?
'Cause I watched some Nick Stanzcyk fishing videos last night, and then had that dream this morning, and I know I'm not that original.
