Not sure if this has been talked about on here yet, but this was from his weekly show "Reb Talk".

"I'm not even doing the Ole Miss homer thing. You're talking about like Clemson's schedule and who they've played over Alabama. It's stupid. Take some of those teams that are up there who haven't played anybody and put them in the SEC, they're .500 teams."

They're on the outside looking in, so he feels like he's got to take a shot at other conferences schedules. He also mentions the Big 12 schedule. It's the only ammunition he has to defend his team and it's weak as H3ll. Especially seeing as Ole Miss was one of the biggest spenders in the portal and only have an 8-3 record to show for it.

Explain to everyone that the only true playoff would be a playoff that consists only of SEC/B1G teams. I suspect we will see that after this two year "transition" is complete.

At least the Big 12 plays 9 conference games. The SEC only plays 8 and Ole Miss filled in with 4 cupcakes. As for the ACC. We don’t make the rules we just abide by them. At least we scheduled one top 10 non conference game and one top 20 non conference game. Ole Miss would never do that.

worst non-conference schedule out there, so u play 8 real games and go 5-3 in those games. Whether he’s right about Clemson or not doesn’t matter, he knows their case is as weak as any 3 loss team.

No excuse for that talented team to lose to Kentucky/Florida .

Sooner or later , and I like Lane, start to believe others are right when they say he’s had the best jobs in the country in his career and has never done a thing
