Why did Trump only get 30% of the Jewish vote while 70% went

Aug 23, 2017, 11:27 AM [ in reply to ask Israel which party is the friend of them? ]

to Clinton?

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Make that 25% for Trump.

Aug 23, 2017, 11:30 AM

Gary Johnson got 3% and Jill Stein got 2%.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Because there tend to be more Jews in liberal areas

Aug 23, 2017, 11:47 AM [ in reply to Why did Trump only get 30% of the Jewish vote while 70% went ]

I'd like to see the breakdown of religious Jews versus non-religious Jews. My guess is that Orthodox and Conservative Jews are more likely to vote Republican, while Reform Jews and non-religious Jews tend to be more liberal.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nope. Not even close.

Aug 23, 2017, 12:11 PM

76 percent of Reform Jews voted for Clinton, as opposed to 21 percent for Trump.

71 percent of Conservative Jews voted for Clinton, as opposed to 25 percent for Trump.

56 percent of Orthodox Jews voted for Clinton, as opposed to 39 percent for Trump.

Among those who identified as merely “just Jewish,” 67 percent voted for Clinton, as opposed to 26 percent for Trump.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Actually, that isn't far off from what I said

Aug 23, 2017, 12:13 PM

Those who are most involved in Jewish religious life, who I would assume are the most interested in "Judaism-related" political issues, are the most likely to vote Republican.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They all voted overwhelmingly for the Democrat and

Aug 23, 2017, 12:20 PM

not for the Republican, same as the previous election. Not something that would happen if the "entire Democratic Party" was anti-semitic, as was posited.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's BS. Now, if you axe Bibi, maybe so. Bibi's party

Also, Hillary won the Jewish vote in the U.S. 71-24.

You'll find it helpful in understanding their meaning.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The context was which party had more anti-semites

Aug 23, 2017, 12:16 PM

Some might argue that the growing opposition to Israel on the left is much more significant than a handful of neo-Nazis who say they support Trump, and who have no constituency in the Republican Party.

Aug 23, 2017, 11:41 AM

You're talking about a guy in Rubio whose lifetime ACU vote rating is 95.29 versus a guy in McCain whose lifetime rating is 81.62. Even Heritage Action, which is notoriously tough in its vote ratings, has Rubio at 73% and McCain at 49%, with the average Senate Republican at 56%. In fact, Rubio has been one of the most conservative members of Congress since he was elected. Trying to make Rubio out to be a squishy moderate is hard-core fake news.
