Any NIL money that players receive is taxable income. I fully expect some players to eventually have IRS issues. This also applies to vehicles or other merchandise that the players receive. Example: The two vehicles that Rattler received from the dealership in Oklahoma is taxable income is bill will be based on the fair market value of those vehicles.

Wow! I agree with you; it's going to happen. The "live for today and forget about tomorrow mentality" seems to be the slight majority among many college-age kids. Not all of course!

Are they thinking IRS at that age? These kids at the FBS level have probably only known football during the summer and H.S. classes and football! They likely have never held a job in other words.

What kind of Pandora's box did this open?

I think I remember the politicians in California initiated the NIL for fair compensation of players as the Universities were making unfair profits off of their talents. OK,, The politicians will fix the taxation problem much like Obama Care.... Unions and congress do not have to buy in and are able to keep their much better options... The politicians will exempt the college athletes when several get into IRS trouble.
