Wide net. See who's interested. Unfortunately, see what type of deal they're looking for. If it's a fit, push harder. Brownell has a good track record with transfers. If he feels like he can contribute, then I'm ok with it.

did he really develop and get any better than he was at Bama? Seems like he's just chasing the next best opportunity (i.e., more NIL money) while he tries to convince someone at the next level to give him a shot.

He did have good games vs Clemson when he was at Bama and the Coots. So sometimes like that trend. Zachery always played well vs Clemson when he was at BC.
