I think part of the reason that the Southern Conference is not playing is because they can't afford to take on the same testing and Covid protocol as the D-1 schools. If they can't assure that they are doing that I don't think we should play them. We all know why they want to play!

Not true. My son is at the Citadel and Gen Walters has that place spic, span, and squared away. He had 4000 marines on campus this summer getting them and the Citadel ready to receive cadets this month. They test constantly and quarantine as needed. They begin higher level molecular testing with a simple mouth swab in the next few days when the equipment arrives. There is no safer place to be in the country. Walters is a 4* Marine General and he's as good a leader as you will find. If this country would listen to people like him and Dabo we'd have navigated this 'pandemic' much, much better already. These guys don't cower in the face of fear or political intimidation. I, for one, can't wait for this game.

Does Clemson and the other P5 schools that scheduled SOCON opponents have to pay a buyout fee if they cancel the game? If so,of course they are going to say that. Isn't that likely why the SOCON left the OOC option open so they would get those buyout checks anyway.

That may cover this- we shouldn’t play that one IMO. I don’t think we’ve announced because we are debating it or concerned that the season start might get pushed back(to 9/19 or 9/26) and that won’t leave time for non-conf
