Joseph Ngata news

We are all waiting to see if WR Joseph Ngata will return to Clemson for another season or turn pro. I am hearing from a few different football sources that he is not in school, so that would indicate he has either made a decision to leave or is leaning that way. Now, I haven't heard if there is a final decision, and things can obviously change. I will keep you updated as I hear/learn more.

You not ready for the NFL. He did look better but more tape is needed. Imo-only.

He better be ready to be an undrafted FA if he listens to whoever is giving the bad advice.

2 part question
Jan 11, 2023, 6:15 PM
|
|
He's graduated already ,right ?
If so, does he have to "school" in the Winter/Spring to enroll in graduate class and play in the Fall ?

Yes, he graduated in December.
I believe that he would have to take some graduate classes to continue as a member of the team.

Sounds like a lead up to an announcement that he is staying

To drag this out.....is there really a decision to be made here? Wish the kid all the best...but to turn pro...really? C'mon man
UDFA--ALL DAY LONG unless he shows speed in testing he hasn't shown on the field.
IMO....He would be VERY well served to stay and show consistency and resiliency health-wise. Go work on your grad degree while its free. Maybe lock in a few NIL dollars.
IMO....He is in NO WAY ready to crack a NFL roster and would be very fortunate to land a spot on a practice squad. If this is his goal, he needs to work on his craft. And I say this not dying for him to stay. I would love to use the spot to get an elite WR that can stretch the field. But I do see value in his experience, increased production with Cade and he is a great kid.
Just SMDH that this is even happening with him. It would almost make more sense for him to transfer to a new school that throws more than for him to consider a jump to the NFL given his production @ Clemson.

I'm not sure why he would portal. He will start in an offense that will throw a lot of balls his way.

There's been quite a few Tiger WR better than him

Who can't latch onto a NFL contract...to hurt to get the benefit of the doubt as a UDFA. If he thinks that he is ready, good luck. I would rather he come back and PROVE that he can generate a better resume' for the scouts to evaluate next year.

Why come back?

All last season Tnet was full of comments about how Grisham was a horrible WR coach, so why should Ngata come back and play for that?
