very disappointing. Nearly all of the new real estate was taken up by advertising. The actual used area for replays is probably the same as the previous board.

I think the clarity *might* be better, otherwise all we got was is really clear Founders FCU adverts.

You cannot read downs and yards to gain. There isn’t anything indicating timeouts remaining. And who decided to put Clemson score on the right?

You are correct. I googled pics of Clemson scoreboards and the Clemson points have always been on the left. It looked today like it was Furman's home board. Was the board operator thinking?

First time I’ve ever posted - that’s how disappointed I am with the new mega advertising billboard in the east end zone. Down and distance in micro print. No TOL info. Half the screen was ads! Does IPTAY really need 20% of the board to advertise to IPTAY members?! Whoever set the layout up has never watched a football game.

The good news is they can probably tweak all of that very easily. I noticed it was hard to see down and distance and no timeouts were shown.

After the fourth score, I did look up to see the tail wag. It is SLOW and needs to be tweaked. I don’t remember seeing light bulbs for the eyes on the new one.

I saw the tail wag a few times, but never did see the eyes light up. Should be easier to see the eyes next Saturday with the night game.

We didn’t go down in quality, but it just seems like for a wildly expensive purchase we would get more than a little clarity bump.

No. While they rotated advertisements in the corners, they were static advertisement spaces.

I thought the new scoreboard looked great. Even with the ads it is significantly bigger than the old one. It makes the whole east end zone look better almost closing in that end of the stadium. They need to work out the acoustics. The PA announcers voice came out of the video board speakers and then it came out of the west end zone speakers delayed. Sounded like an echo. They should be able to work that out. Really odd that the TOL wasn’t anywhere in that board. Overall I thought it looked great.

Not true. The video board cost $20 million. The $68 million figure thrown around is for the entire multiyear upgrades to Memorial Stadium, including the new lights, speakers, West Endzone Masters Club, and other phases after this year, including lot 5 being redone to include new Tiger Walk upgrades.

I think it was amazing. So clear and the sound system was big time too. I get the ads, free radio would be cool without ads too but that’s how business works.
