Danny Ford never had a losing season at Clemson.
Duke Florida State @ Louisville Furman @ South Carolina
Have to win 3. Let's go.

I think we squeeze one out of the first 3. FU might be uncomfortably close at haft time. Maybe we catch lightening in a bottle and beat the Coots.

The best post I've seen this week was from TigerGirlinGa. She said at no time during the Ford era did she ever feel the program was on a downward spiral like it is now. That is such a true statement.

Um, in 1984 we were 7-5 followed by 6-6 in 1985.

The difference is the internet.
If the internet existed in 1984-85, Tigernet would have been lit up with “oh woe is me we are in a downward spiral”.
Now you know, and surely you agree it would have been a total meltdown if we had Tigernet back then. Right?
Let’s deal in facts and not false narratives.

An opinion isn’t a false narrative. You seem to have problems with differentiating fact from opinion, especially your own.
You avoided me again btw. I’ll play the game from here til eternity.

You haven’t seen downward spiral, all you who want Dabo gone will get what you wish for, me on the other hand , hope and prays he changes his ways and fixes the mess, because when he’s on his game , we know what happens.PS, I couldn’t care less if he walks around with a Waffle House menue, doesn’t bother me a bit.

Coots are just as bad as us. I think beating FSU, Furman, and SC is what it looks like today to reach 6-6. Could easily finish 4-8 or 8-4 too.

Why would I make that bet with you when I can get better odds at a sportsbook. Make it worthwhile for me.
I can get +500 to +$600 odds for that kind of bet at Vegas. So something like I pay out $100 if Clemson covers Coots-10 but you pay me $500 if the Coots cover by 10. (or $500|$2,500 if you want bigger stakes)

Sure, he was run off. But it was because he publicly challenged his bosses.

Dabo should be careful that he doesn’t repeat history. He isn’t bigger than Clemson either.

Did Danny ever go a year without winning a home P5 game?
Duke - Loss Florida State - Coin Flip @ Louisville - Loss Furman - Win @ South Carolina - Loss
I knew I should have put 100K on the 7 win over/under wins a couple of weeks ago. =(

Duke is a hard one to figure out. They can score fumble going into score against ga tech and ga tech returns for a fumble 6. 14 point swing. Surprisingly we're 59% chance to win. Toss up. Its pretty depressing to think there's a chance at a Duke loss.
FSU obviously has the talent but did losing the Miami game just crash and burn the team? Idk, just another odd team to figure out.
Louisville- probably L Furman - win Coots - they can't score. Team is depleted of all depth. I could see another 16-7 win.
So I'm thinking 7-5.

I was around during the Danny Ford era as well. It wasn't all rainbows and roses. In fact, 1984 (7 & 4) and 1985 (6 & 6) weren't very much fun at all. But we kept him around for a few more years for the same reason Dabo isn't going to be fired any time soon. National Championships buy a pretty long leash. Go Tigers!

Those two season were the result of the loss of scholarships from probation. The 1984 7-4 season had Clemson finishing 2nd in league play. The 1985 6-6 season had the team 4th in the ACC. After that, look at the record for his final four years. One 8-2-2 season (ACC champs) and three 10-2 seasons (2 ACC championships). This season could end up worse than Danny’s rock bottom season from probation.

I have been blaming the coaches. For the rest of the season, I am expecting the players to figure out a way to win in spite of the coaching. If they are Clemson Tigers, they will find a way to win. If they are collecting a paycheck, don’t rub my rock and go get your as$ in the portal.

Ford’s legacy is safe. I remember the game that he was inducted into the ring of honor. The stadium announcer got to Ford’s turn and said “He coached Cle…”. You could not hear anything after the “Cle” because the crowd went nuts.
