If and when Dabo steps away from Clemson it's on Neff to find a suitable replacement. I don't know if he's that guy or not yet but seems he's made some good hires for the other sports. Dabo won't be easily replaced JK, I believe you can at least acknowledge this.

Clemson has a TON to offer a prospective coach: high salary, great working environment, tons of administrative support, great facilities, etc. There are only a handful of coaches in college football who WOULDN'T be interested in the opening.

He has openly and willingly stated:
-He doesn't like the fact that players no longer have to sit out a year before transferring.
-We are a developmental program and prefer our own players.
-His transfer portal is in our locker room.
-That we do use transfers - from high school.
Please stop acting like he has been unfairly criticized on this. Dabo's an outspoken guy, which is fine - that's who he is. But he doesn't get to spew whatever he wants and not have to face the consequences sometimes.

Dabo “trying” to use the portal is like a 5-year saying they’re “trying” to eat their vegetables but they just won’t go in their mouth.
You’ll never convince me that our $11million/year coach that many of our fans claim to be “the best recruiter and salesman” in the country is “trying” to use the portal but they just say no, meanwhile every other FBS coach in the country (sans the academies for different reasons) can figure it out.

Most of the top players in the portal have already decided on a new destination long before they enter the portal and Dabo is not going to engage in a bidding war for those players who haven't.

The goal is to find players who are highly skilled and who we think will represent Clemson well on and off the field. This is no different than high school recruiting, except that these transfer portal players have the advantage of having college football experience.
This isn't difficult.
Why do you say that most of the top players in the portal have already decided on a new destination long before they enter the portal? What is that based on? What proof do you have?
Just admit it, your chief objective is to defend Dabo at all costs, even if it means making ridiculous statements about the portal and players in it.

I have a hard time believing that someone like Dabo, known as a great recruiter, and who has one of the 5 most talented rosters in college football in 2024 according to Rivals, just can't find anybody in the portal who wants to come to Clemson.

I really don't understand why so many Tiger fans can't see that it wouldn't make any sense to bring in portal guys that couldn't start over the talent that we already have. Are you kidding, there can't be anyway that Clemson is top 20 with NIL money when the biggest check that's written are done by big manufacturers. I don't live anywhere close to the upstate area, but the only really big manufactory I know of anywhere close to Clemson would the BMW plant in Spartanburg. What else is up there that might be writing checks for the Clemson NIL bank for players that they want speaking up for their company. I mean since Trevor Lawrence and ETN left right before the NIL, who's at Clemson right now that a sponsor like BMW would want advertising their company?

We are one of 24 programs to have a Sweet 16 and Elite 8 since 2016.
Recruiting is on the upswing, with a top 25 class in 2024.
We are aggressively and successfully using the portal to address needs and improve our roster.
Our academic performance is unparalleled in program history. It was announced a few months ago that we have a 100% graduation rate for the program.
These are uncharted waters for our men's basketball program, and we are doing it without having many of the advantages the top programs have.
People are excited about a program that is doing more with less, punching above its weight class, and continuing to improve.
This is in contrast to our football program, which is doing less with more, underachieving, and declining.

There is so much tampering going on in d1 football. Most of the guys we would want out of the portal already know where they're going! And just because you get a guy doesn't mean it's gonna work. Chemistry is a funny thing when you're talking about 20 year Olds.
