My prediction is things are going to get better pretty

quickly and here’s my thinking.
1. The pressure is off. Now having lost 2, we will not be in the playoff so that should release a little of the pressure on the offense.
2. Dabo is loyal but he will make the necessary changes to make things better. I think it will start with coach Caldwell’s retirement.
3. We have the talent to look so much better. Talent is certainly not the issue and most of the time it is.
We all have to realize that nothing goes up forever. Not stocks and certainly not college football teams. This is just a down year but I’m 100% confident that Dabo will right the ship.

How quickly can you take five offensive linemen and make them blow the defense off the line of scrimmage?

Sorry but I disagree. Dabo has a history of not sitting people down. DJ is, for some unknown reason, his QB and he won't give anyone else a chance. His stubbornness will cost us mightily on our remaining schedule. Don't get wrong, I hope he is our coach for 20 more years but he can't seem to recognize the problem here I don't think.

I have to think he recognizes it, but he's not going to say it. After the 3rd straight 3 n out, he should have sat DJ for at least a series to see what happened.

Wouldn't be too sure on that... if he starts game 5, he can't redshirt the year to transfer...4 have is the limit. He may very well, if DJ doesn't start playing like he should be, replace him in a game from game 5 onwards.

retire after this season. Everybody was complaining about our OL last year. The OL struggle hurt Etienne's last two seasons and lowered his rushing average.

Scheme is not making them whiff on simple blocks and not able to get out of their stances before the Dline is in our backfield.

You really can't say the OLine isn't had hadn't been an issue here. We've never really recruited the greatest under Caldwell, nor has any line really ever been completely dominant in the last several years. How many O linemen from Clemson can you count in the NFL right now? I honestly think that would be a good start. Then Tony either needs to be forced to change things, including growing the schemes, or be given the choice to bow out. He's earned the right to get this season to show he can grow again as a coordinator... but if we end it looking how we began it with no signs of trying to change, then it may be time to move on.

Has DJ learned how to read a defense? Has he stopped staring down his main receiver then panicking when he's not open? Is he still the starting QB?

The OL is not a quick fix. We have multitudes of problems but the OL is the glaring one and we won’t be a really good team again until that gets fixed. There is some help on the way but two years before they can develop into a good line.

What happened from week 3 to week 4?
Sep 26, 2021, 4:57 PM
|

After week 3 "the offense doesn't stink"...
...so after week 4 we're going with a reactive strategy instead of a forward thinking solution that should have started after week 1?
I suppose better late than never but this wreaks of poor planning and foresight.

Caldwell decided to retire after this season during this past summer…it will happen but has nothing to do with the way things ate going this year…I just hope things don’t end so bad that he decides to give it another run to go out on a better note!!!
