My prediction......
Dec 5, 2013, 1:08 AM
|
|
I think that in the beginning of the year they will split time, But as the year progresses one will emerge as the clear #1... I personally want Stoudt to start and for Chad to be subbed in in certain running packages; even tricking the defense every now and then with Kelly throwing!
GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!

I think Kelly takes the spot

I think his ability to run will open things up for us that we haven't had with Tajh.

I can handle chad Kelly running zone plays with Adam Choice and Tyshone Dye all day.
This will be one of the most anticipated springs in Clemson History.

From my extremely limited time viewing them on the field, it looks like it should be Stoudt right now, but who knows how much either can progress in the off season. Stoudt seems to have a better command of the offense. He looks like he sees the field very well, and is good at going through his progressions and making accurate passes.
Kelly looks to be the more athletic of the two, but I don't know how good his grasp of the offense is. He seems quick to take off running with the ball. I thought his passes looked accurate, but I don't think, from my limited viewing, he is as good at passing as Stoudt.

Kelly is way too talented not to win the job.

He is definitely more athletic than Stoudt, and the fact that he is a really good runner could help open up the offense. I hope I am either wrong about his grasp of the offense, or he really picks it up in the offseason. With his talent, he could really shine in this offense.

He will grow into the role, in the long term his decision making will determine if he keeps the job. We are in a really good spot with Watson coming in this spring.

Gotta remember he is coming off a relatively recent torn ACL and surgery... 7 months now? Normally, it takes guys at least a year and a half to recover to full mobility.

Really like this guy; however I think a RS year would be great for him. My thing is this: During the RS year, Kelly takes off and wins the starting job and does great. Then years over, you have Watson and Kelly both great--who do you make the face of Clemson?

I think he starts, but it'll be a fun battle to watch in the Spring. I hope whoever is declared the backup doesn't intend to transfer.

Hopefully they will keep everyone guessing until Georgia

Even if there is a clear frontrunner, the staff shouldn't give that away until they have to. We need every advantage we can get for the Georgia game; their defense should be better and on offense they lose Murray, but both Gurley and Marshall plus Rome at tight end and a couple good receivers are returning.

Alot depends on whether Morris is still here.

If he is here, and if he is really serious about the "smashmouth spread", then Kelly is a no-brainer. He and Dye would be a nightmare in the backfield.
