Could the 2014 WR class be the best ever?
Jan 19, 2014, 8:26 PM
|
|
2011, 5 star Sammy Watkins, 4 star Martavis Bryant, 4 star Charone Peake, 2 star Adam Humphries.
2014 4 star Demarre Kitt, 4 star Artavis Scott, 4 star Kyrin Priester, 4 star Trevion Thompson.
My personal opinion would be that the 2011 class is better (only because of Sammy). But I see enough raw talent in the 2014 class to make me think twice.

I believe you are correct. And I hate to see these youngsters have issues. I remember a recruit named Markish Jones, from Broome I believe. Another freakish athlete who faded away. Kid was a stud. Everybody wanted him, especially FSU. But it just didn't work out for him. Nonetheless I hope he's found his way.

My read on 2011 Sammy - sophomore slump that many receivers would love to have. One of our best ever Martavis - good. Could have been great. Wish we could have seen another year. Peak - expect great things from him this year. Probably our toughest loss to injury. How much difference would it have made to have a number 2 receiver tahj had confidence in for the tough games? Humphries - throw out the coots game and he is one of the most under rated on the team. Overall, tough to beat. 2014 could be more balanced. In a few years, could be a great debate over a few beers!

Add Cannon Smith and Milan Richard to the list

We've done a great job of utilizing the TEs in our offense. Look for these guys to have an impact as well. Perhaps not immediately but it's great to have some more 6'5 TEs coming in to follow in suit.

I definitely see Milan being used a lot, some people seem to think that Cannon will eventually be turned into an OT simply because of lack of depth, and I can understand this. I mean he is 6-5 235, and the updated ESPN top 300 has him at 6-5 255, if that's true, then he will end up like Tyler Shatley and probably converted to an OT, but I would love to see us pick up Hyatt instead and keep two big and dangerous TE's

I vaguely remember his recruitment but I do remember what an insider told me, "His speed and play on the field is uncanny. People will slight him because of his size listing. I did. But then I made my way down there and saw him play. Clemson has a great athlete headed their way."

Very solid wr class but doesn't look like we got an elite talent. Sammy and byrant and peak were considered elite tslent.

very good class, but not quite where the 2011 one was rated. I am pulling for them to be better, though. It is the year to re-load at WR, and the coaches addressed that need.
