My Louisville film review

Sep 19, 2016, 10:09 AM

Lamar Jackson is really fast. I believe Venables will game plan to contain him the best we can and make him beat us throwing. This is a game where we will see the saltiness of our defensive line payoff. Jackson hasn't faced mush pressure so we can only hope he makes a few mistakes playing on the road with Big Dex in his face.

On Defense they aren't overpowering but create a lot of havoc. Major problem for most QB's but if Deshaun plays with the poise that has made him great I expect big things.

We will need to control clock to keep Jackson off the field and establish a running game

I kind of agree

They do give up yardage. Cause moved the ball on them very efficiently and at times FsU moved it.

If our OL will play like it did vs Bama, then this game will be a 45-30 type game in our favor.

Watson's had his worse games against them, though***

Agreed

I watched their game in the background on Saturday, and I wasn't that impressed with Jackson as a passer. Talented, yes, but he misses a ton of open throws. Also saw him force a few throws. As you said, he hasn't seen much of a pass rush either.

His game/running ability is reminiscent of Cam in college. Except Cam used brute force, and Jackson uses speed. Containing him is more than a hard task, but you have to pick your poison. I pick loading the box, spying him, and hoping our secondary can keep cover (hopefully will be easy if the DLine can wreak havoc).

My last 2 cents: I don't see any position group outside of the secondary and punter where Louisville has better personnel.
