My "Hot Take" prediction

In regard to N.I.L., I believe one of 3 things happen:
1. Unlikely: There is some sort of rescue overhaul of the system either through congress or the forming of a sanctioning governing body outside of the NCAA

2. Less likely, but the system collapses because it's not sustainable for collectives/boosters to pony up 800K a year to the Josh Pettys and David Sanders who play a position that is extremely difficult to project from H.S. to the college level

3. Most likely IMHO: Dabo quits in the next 2-3 years like Saban because the thing reeks to high heaven, and he is tired of the tampering and being played by 18 year old kids the likes of the Ole Miss deccommit/recommit who use Clemson as a bargaining and leverage chip to extort more cash out of their unprincipled schools that were willing to write a 7 figure check to a kid who hasn't played a down or done Jack at the College Level. The system is broken. It's insanity and I can't blame CDS if he walks away.

guys asking him about playing time for next season sounds exactly like the kind of thing that would turn Dabo off.

The only good thing about (2) is that it takes money from people who obviously have too much and puts it into the pocket of folks who could use it...but it's going to kill college football as we know it.

(1) will literally require an act of Congress

Colleges should pay the kids a salary based on position played and time in the system. Refuse to accept any player who is paid money outside the system. I know! I know! Can't do this because of lawsuits.

Or at least fix the transfer portal which would prevent some of the tampering and go back to requiring a kid to sit for a year

I wouldn't be surprised if he walks away soon too. If he wanted to coach Professional football he could have tried to go the NFL by now. ####, at least there they have rules

Is to accept that players will be paid, as they should be, AND implement the tried and proven rules of the NFL( and every other professional sport):
Salary caps - most important
Collective bargaining or player unions
Trade ( portal) restrictions
Maybe even drafts, but I still have a hard time with that one
Etc

This is all coming, and everything will be fine, like it still is with other professional sports.
