My dad passed away March 31st, 2023. He was my hero. He was also a 20 year employee and life long fan of Clemson.
Ever since he passed, my passion hasn’t been the same. I use to be so excited for the start of the season.
I’m 38 years old and for as long as I could remember this was the most exciting time of the year. Football was back. We were about to see our Tigers play.
I miss my dad so much. I miss talking Clemson with him. I miss talking about the good and the bad with the team every week.
I know he’s in a better place. I know he’s watching over me. I just selfishly wish he was still here.
I’m hoping tomorrow I wake up with the same passion I had when he was here. I know that’s what he would want.
I love you and miss you dad

Your father was obviously a wonderful man and his son demonstrates what a great father he was

I miss my Dad, a W&M night school grad, who paid for my Clemson degree and died in Oct '22. I hope you keep your great memories and also find some family or pals to share the passion your Dad and you enjoyed.
But does not have to be overnight. Go Tigers! Beat UGA!

I lost my stepdad of 30 years a few months ago. He had more integrity than anyone I have ever known. They put a plaque of him at the Waste Water treatment plant he worked at for 30 years when he retired.
All that, and he's also a huge Clemson fan.
My prayers are with you man. Go Tigers!

With pretty much zero communication with my dad, I'm not gone pretend to feel your exact pain.
Closer to the story, I also just seem to be less enthused about college football getting older, and now dealing with a semi pro league now....
I miss the old days all the time.

Man. I know that has to be tough. My Dad is the same guy you just explained. He instilled a love for Clemson in me from the time I could comprehend language. He has been an IPTAY member since the mid 1970’s and took me to Death Valley so many times. I now return the favor. He goes with me now. I realize how blessed I am. My Dad is slowing down. Heck, I am slowing down. Im 53 and he is 72. It’s hard watching your hero go downhill and leave. Im so sorry for your loss. Your post reminded me how blessed I am to still be able to talk about anything to my Dad. God bless you and GO TIGERS!!!

I wish I had some secret formula to relieve your pain. My dad passed in August of 2021after a years long battle with dementia. He was a Clemson grad and sent me and my sister there as well. What I wouldn’t give now to pick him up one more time and drive to the Clemson Club and watch the game in Destin. Keep his memory alive through stories about him, I’m sure he would like that.
