I have an eerie feeling we may just have Myles Murphy 2.0 at LB. These two were ranked by some media outlets as the best two linebackers in the country. It seems that as soon as 1st round draft potential is reached (at least at Clemson) production falls off quite a bit.
How in the hayull can you go through Spring Summer and Fall camps as the #1 Linebacker on the team and the first interview you give is about being out of shape (that's because you are already entitled to a first round draft position).
We have some incredibly deep issues within the program and it is time for Dabo to go back to being the incredible manager he is (not coach) our offense is proof that he is not an incredible coach he has made some incredible hires (in the past Venables, Eason at least) its time he set back and let his hires get results. If they aren't, cut them.

league last year. Pre-draft, Trenton Simpson was the top linebacker on many draft boards, and yet, he wasn't taken until Round THREE, as the 86th player overall. Linebacker appears to be facing the same sort of devaluation in the draft as running back already has. So, if they want to make the "Bag", they better show out on the field any, and every chance they get.

How is that Idiotic? We are getting lapped by other teams right now and have obvious problems. You can disagree but no way it's idiotic.

Not so far off...look at how many times a Duke RB chip blocked and ran into the flat wide open...we probably gave up over 100 yds by someone not doing their job at all. Number of stars does not matter, doing your job matters..that's what TCU did last year with the kid from Mt.Enterprise...ask our million$ offensive coordinator!

ksarrat you are correct. When I saw that article about the LB's being the best duo in America, my first reaction was " WWHHAATT"?? Then Mukuba declared the DB's the best group in America....."WWHHAAATT?" Then an ACCN dude stated the DL was the best group in America....."WWHHAATT?" Stop doing this to our team! You are destroying the old "Clemson against the world" mentality that we always overcame because we were looked down on as the underdog. Stop telling the team how great they are. It doesn't work here and is perceived as "just more spin & lies." Stop it!

I still can't believe those comments about conditioning were made. Imagine the type of reaction Venables would have to publicly made comments of this nature.

he has been battling a hamstring injury and probably still isn't 100%. As far as Carter goes, he has no excuse for not being in game shape.

I really think the young man just had a slip of the tongue. He was definitely worn down and frustrated and they stuck a mic in his face at the wrong moment. I'm fairly certain he is in great shape. In fact, a win and a good game played will perform a miraculous recovery on the body.

Well, you know they're position coach is Wes Goodwin who has never coached before so it's not surprising that they're out of position and the fundamentals are lacking. Dabo replacing Coach V with Wes Goodwin is the biggest decision blunder he's made since he's been at Clemson. DC at Clemson is not a place for OJT.
